ill beat him up if he tries

comin out now

I leaned against my Jeep that normally wasn't mine to drive, it was normally Bee's but considering the location in which we were gonna be heading to, it felt appropriate. Vinnie came down the steps pretty quickly and lifted me up into his arms as he spun me in a circle.

"Come in," Vinnie said as he pulled my hand towards the door.

"I'll come in to help you pack but then we're leaving." I said. "Please don't make me say hi to anyone."

"Why are you such an introvert?" He asked taking my hand in his as we walked inside.

"I'm not." I defensively said. We walked upstairs towards his room, thankfully not many people were around so I didn't have to say hi to anyone.

"Where are we even going?" He asked. "Our first little vacation."

"Shut up." I hit his arm and sat in his gaming chair as he grabbed a bag and began looking through his closet. "Just pack normally. We're only going to be gone for two days."

"Two days? Sari, I can't miss that much training." He sighed.

"I told my dad we would train while we're gone." I said.

I did promise my dad we'd at least go on a run or two while we were there but Vinnie didn't have to know that. He's been working non stop for the past two months with the training only getting more and more intense, I think he definitely deserved two days to himself.

"Your dad is letting us run off together?" Vinnie asked, surprised that the answer was yes.

"He likes you." I said. "So does Bee. They trust us."

Vinnie didn't respond, he just turned around and began grabbing some clothes from his closet. Then he went to the bathroom and grabbed things from there, and just like when any teenage boy packs, he was done in under ten minutes. Vinnie took my hand and then closed his door behind him as we walked downstairs and out of the house. Vinnie walked around to the driver's side and opened the door for me. Even after I got in he held the door open and leaned against looking at me.

"What?" I asked, nervously smiling as he stared at me. He leaned in and kissed me gently. I was shocked but I happily kissed him back.

"I missed you, that's all." He kissed my cheek and then shut my door before getting in the passenger seat.

It had barely been a week since I last saw Vinnie and his comment made my heart flutter. I did miss seeing him all the time. We had spent basically an entire month and a half attached at the hip during his training, now my dad wasn't allowing me at the gym when he was there. Between his other things he was doing as well as training it was hard for us to find time to hang out.

It had been pretty lonely lately. Between Vinnie's training and Liliana finding newfound fame through TikTok and hanging out with new people, I had been stuck at the house not doing anything. Liliana was really one of my only friends considering we met in elementary school and once I got to middle school I asked to be homeschooled. I never got a prom, never got a real gradation, nothing. Not that I really wanted it anyways. It all seemed a little superficial, but that was just because I never experienced it. I'm sure it meant the world to people who actually got to experience it. Except maybe I did want to at least experience prom.
