I chuckle at her joke, my best friend of almost 7 years never fails to make me laugh. Whether it's making fun of herself, or others, she always has the funniest (or meanest) things to say.
Before we could continue joking with her, there's a knock at the door. Grabbing my purse, I stand from the couch as we all make our way over to the door. Dixie opens it and is immediately engulfed in a hug. The boy, wearing a plain black shirt and black skinny jeans hugs Charli next, then Avani, and then me.
"Hey uh sorry," he scratches the back of his head nervously, "I'm a hugger."
"No problem-"
"She's the biggest hugger I know," Avani cuts in, answering for me.
"Yea," I laugh, finding it funny that she always knew what I wanted to say, "by the way I'm Victoria."
"I'm Noah-"
"Mr. Thick Neck!" Charli taunts, earning an eye roll from him.
"Can we just go? Y'all are dumb." Dixie points us out of her apartment.
Laughing at her impatience, we step out and head towards the elevator. It's not soon before we're all piled into Noah's Tesla, Dixie in the front, with Charli, Avani, and I in the back. Charli of course, almost on instinct, pulls out her phone and taps the Tiktok app, before finding the perfect lighting in the car.
"Do you wanna be in one?" she looks hopefully over to me, pointing to the new Megan the Stallion sound she wants to try out.
"Uh," I bite my lip, "maybe not right now."
"But you look so good," she shakes her head confusingly, "OMG you should make an account right-"
"She's shy as fuck Charls, I've been trying to get her to make one," Avani answers for me.
"Okay, I guess," Charli shrugs, "you'd get so many views though."
She drops the conversation and I sigh in relief, Tiktok just doesn't seem like my thing. There are thousands of pretty girls on there with the perfect bodies and looks, and then ... there's me. Me who takes a trillion years to even find the perfect angle to take a picture. Me who takes a thousand photos with the perfect angle and only ends up liking one.
Instagram is enough for me and that's all. I only have like 600 followers on there anyways, most of them arent even active anymore so I don't feel too nervous about posting. The only time I even go on Snapchat is to talk to my little sister, who is 13 and apparently can't text on any other app, just because she thinks Snapchat is the best thing ever. Social media is just so draining, I wish I could get myself to like it more, but I can't.
"Hey Noah, can I go on aux?" Charli speaks up, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yea sure why not-"
"No," Dixie groans, "she's gonna play Tiktok music."
"I'll go on aux!" Avani beams.
"No, I asked first!" Charli whines, playfully nudging Avani with her elbow.
"We don't care." Avani rolls her eyes, "I'm playing music."
"No you're not, I said I am!"

The music from the party can be heard from down the street, making me wonder how these boys haven't been kicked out yet or gotten at least a noise complaint from the neighbors. Well, I guess when you're Tiktoks most famous users, nothing can go wrong right?
