Her head and eyes stared straight as if distant.

As if not noticing him she looked up at the top floor and realized that maybe that was the answer.
She had to jump.

Frowning Duncan followed her gaze and stepped aside as she stood to walk towards the stairs.

Quickly his arms shot around her waist and held her in place.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

Not resisting, she looked so distracted. She turned to briefly look at him. With a determined eerie look in her eye, she explained herself.

"I...I have to jump from there," she pointed to the balcony far above their heads.

Looking up then back at her, his eyes searched hers and he noticed that she lacked reason. She wasn't well.

"Don't you see?, that's what happened when I ended up here," she searched his gaze hoping that he would understand.

"Andrew told me not to move, but then the floor began to break away beneath my feet and then I fell and somehow ended up here," She stared into his eyes.

He silently listened to her.

Trying to free herself and continue onto the stairs, he held her in place.

She turned to look at him and her eyes saddened.

"Please, I have to do this," she struggled against him.

Shaking his head he held her tight.

In his grasp, she fought wildly to free herself. She kicked and screamed like a wildcat in his hold. Her fists flew and connected with his jaw in a fit of rage.

Driving her knee upward, she caught him in the groin and stepped quickly back as he doubled over with a curse.

She turned and ran quickly for the door and out into the forest, weaving trees and branches and praying for the moonlight to guide her way out of there. Her steps quickened as his footsteps pounded behind her. His footsteps came dangerously close,  her heart slammed in her chest as he caught her.

Tight arms squeezed her around the waist lifting her off the ground.

His hard chest pressed at her back along with his stronghold on her, she struggled and screamed leaning her head back against his shoulders in all effort to get free of him.

They tackled each other until he hissed in anger turned her to face him and slammed her to the ground beneath him pinning her down with his weight to subdue her. If she kept this up she was going to hurt herself.

He pinned her arms above her head.

"Stop it," he commanded sharply.

She bucked her hips and squirmed beneath him and he groaned in aggravation.

"Be still," he hissed.

Her movements beneath him made him very aware of the warm slender body beneath his. He could feel her heart slam wildly against his chest, the rhythm of each beat surprisingly matched his.

She continued to squirm beneath him, but her size was no match for his and exhaustion made her easy to control.

Their breaths mingled as he breathed heavily near her lips. His weight above her made it hard to breathe. When she no longer moved beneath him he slowly stood pulling her up with him.

She fought against him and tried to pull away.

"Let me go!" she yelled.

He held her in a place.

"Don't you understand? I cant g back I have to stay here." she cried as he pulled her towards his horse.

He stopped and pulled her close until she was nose to nose with him.

"You can not stay here, it is not safe," he warned.

He turned to pull her along.

She yanked back in a sob.

"What do you care?" she cried.

He turned to look at her. In truth, he shouldn't care, but he couldn't help himself, he did care.  He shook his head. Turning he cursed then faced her angrily yanking her closer.

"I care not to see you kill your self by jumping to your death from the balustrade in my chapel," he hissed.

His anger was matched by her own as she inched closer.

"If you don't care, then let me go. Cuz if you don't I will just find some other way to leave," she promised.

Her heart thumped hard when he pulled her close and their eyes glared at one another. His muscular form brushed hers. Fear and rage tightened at her throat as he grabbed her tightly around the neck and pulled her even closer. The silky heat of his voice poured into her ear with a lethal warning.

"I always catch my prey, wench. You are a fool to think you can escape me," he let her go swiftly stepping away from her without a second glance pulling her with him.

Without a warning, he pulled a sharp dagger from his boots and dragged her towards the dark stallion that awaited his owner's return.

He squeezed her hand tightly while his other hand fleshed out in an arch to cut his horses reins. Facing her he put his dagger back in with his large frame he came closer.

" Give me your hands."

Pulling her small wrists together he tied the long length of rope around them. He jerked her tied hands to secure it making her stumble into his chest. he leaned forward until their noses nearly touched. Steel clashed with honey orbs, his glare was as serious as his warning.

"Try anything and you will regret it."

Duncan nudged the horse with the loose rein, with ease Tara was sat on top of the horse.  Without so much as a glance at her, he mounted as well and sat behind her nudging the horse into a slow walk.

Tear after tear fell as she sat before him with his vice grip arm that held her around her waist. Her mind wandered with so much that was happening to her. She was no longer in her time, she was sitting before a warrior, a Knight that fought with a sword.  an actual King ruled this land.

He was probably an Earl, a Baron, a Count or Duke. Overall he was a Lord of a large keep.  She was faced with a beast that could hang her for treason, any crime or just to tickle his fancy.

And now she was headed back to his home.
To her damnation........
