Summary:
Damian & Mari grew up in Gotham before they moved to Paris. {Damian was never raised in the league but was still pretty cold to strangers}. He decides to visit Paris, where he learns some news that has him taking out his weapons. May God have mercy on Lie-la and her mindless classmates. (MPS are 18 and Damian is 19)

"Kids, you all did great on the test. Now, I am going to ask Henry to pass the sheets back".
Their 2nd grade English teacher announced. Marinette had always been a topper in class. No one could compete with her, except one. Her rival/best friend, Damian Wayne. Those two had been competing since they could walk. Everything was a competition to them. Who was taller, who got the most grades, who helped the most people, etc?.
But they were also the best of friends. If any child approached them, they would both use the bat-glare to scare them off. They always stuck up for one another but would argue all the damn time.
Years passed, and their rivalry only grew. The Dupain- Chengs moved to Paris, and as much as Damian tried to convince himself it was a good thing, he soon realized that Marinette was his only competitor & friend he dares say. That he didn't like so much. Soon he found a good acquaintance in Jon Kent. But he still missed Marinette. thinking of how she was, who were her friends, Was she dating?. He didn't know why, but that last one always made his heartache.
A few years after the move, Damian had gotten a message from his father about the W.E branch he wanted to open in Paris, France. Coincidentally, it was where Marinette & her family had moved. He knew this because each year on Christmas and their birthdays, they received a huge care package from the Dupain-Chengs. His father informed him that while he was there, he would be staying with Mari and his brothers would stay in the Grand Paris hotel.
Marinette entered the bakery with Nino and Chloe trailing behind her. She saw that the bakery was closed and apparently so had her friends. They looked at her, silently asking the unasked question. Where are her parents?.
Marinette shrugged in response and said, "It should be fine".
The trio made their way up to the apartment, to head to Mari's room, but when they opened the door, they saw Marinette's mother making sure that everything was in order and her father cooking dinner.
"Hey, Maman. What's going on? Is someone coming over?", the bluenette asked her mother, curiously.
Said mother looked up to see her daughter and her friends. She smiled sweetly at them and then told Mari, "We are going to pick up Damian from the airport and he is going to stay here for 2 months".
"Wait!! Damian as in The Damian Wayne. As the annoying brat who thought he was better than me and who I competed with during my childhood. That!! Damian??", Mari asked, livid on the surface, but was shrieking internally. She had seen some pictures of him on the internet, and OH BOY!! Was he HOT!!!. Mari mentally slapped herself. She should not be having such thoughts for anyone, let alone her rival.
Her parents laughed at her expression, replying, "Yes. That Damian".

Her parents left for the Airport to pick up Damian. Marinette, Nino, and Chloe finished their homework before the lovebirds aka Nino and Queenie left for Andre's, and Marinette took out the black cat plushie that Damian won for her at a fair in Gotham. They were seeing who could win the other a stuffed animal. As usual, they tied, but he won her a black cat and she won him a robin plushie.
