{Authors note: this story is probably not gonna be the best, it's just a random idea I had while ranting about how in love I am with Loki. I'm not good at starting stories either so you've all been warned. I'm also undecided if I'll have ~smut~, but for now it's a no. this is also most likely going to be a long story, yw.}
Another boring day. You've been left alone once again, your older sister didn't like bringing you out drinking with Thor and the Warriors Three. She didn't think you could handle it, Thor always disagreed, and as your best friend he promised he'd sneak you out sometime. It's been forever and he still hasn't done as he promised.
Your room was dark and quiet, as you sat there thinking of how you wished just once you could go out with everyone. It made your heart sink. You weren't an amazing warrior, or anything like the others, you just didn't fit in. The only reason they even talked to you was because Sif is your sister, you knew it. They didn't even need to tell you, you could feel it deep inside. Thor on the other hand did enjoy being with you, at least that's what you think. He's always very deeply cared for you, and tried the up most to unsure you're happiness and safety. Thor has a soft spot for you, as do you for him.
Finally you decided to stop moping around and walk around the castle, hopefully you'll find Frigga to talk to. She always cheers you up whenever everyone heads out. She tells stories of you and Thor when you were younger every chance she gets. You opened your bedroom door and walked out. The halls glowed gold, mesmerizing you every single time, it's so beautiful. You sighed. Although you grew up here, Asgard never failed to leave you speechless. At the end of the hall were two guards, as you reached them you greeted them, then continued on your way to who knows where. Aside from the guards, the halls have been empty. You could probably hear a pin drop.
You stopped at a staircase, not sure if you should go up them or just go another direction. You eventually decided on the staircase, slowly climbing up. Even though you went slow when you reached the top you were out of breath anyway.
Too many stairs..
You held yourself up with a hand placed on the wall, as you tried to catch your breath. Once you could actually breathe again you carried on with your walk. Realizing you didn't have a destination of where you were going, you thought it'd be a good idea to stop at the library. This is where you usually end up going every time anyway, so why not. The library was a peaceful place you could just sit and enjoy a good book. No one ever comes in here, it's like your own secret hideout.
Heading to a shelf, you eyed down some of the books picking one at random. With the book in hand you walked over to a small bench. It was in a far corner of the library, lightly dimmed. You sat down and got comfortable and began to read.
It had been almost an hour of you peacefully reading, when you were rudely interrupted by someone quickly rushing into the room and slamming the door behind them. You peered up from behind your book to see who it was. Squinting, you could make out a tall slim man that you couldn't recognize from where you were sitting. Getting out of your seat, you stealthily moved closer. As you got closer you realized it was Loki. He's usually always in his room ignoring everyone, he isn't much of a social person but he loves to talk, and pull pranks. That's just what Thor told you. You haven't got the chance to ever speak to Loki, aside from a few occasional "hi's" whenever you do actually see him. He seems like such a sweet guy, you couldn't understand why Sif and the Warriors Three wouldn't want to spend time with him (they complain about him every now and then). Thor also says he's a bit of trouble, especially since he's the God of mischief. Thor's the only one who says anything good about him though. You guessed it's because Loki's his brother.
Loki took a deep breath, and sighed loudly. He turned facing your direction. His expression almost looked sad, and his bright green eyes were like ones of puppies. Loki looked so charming.
Suddenly he looked up. You lost all train of thought as you locked eyes. You swear your heart completely stopped. Although you thought of him being sweet and charming, his stare was so terrifying and piercing. You just stood there, not knowing what to say. You've never had a conversation with him, what could you even say. Loki kept staring. Your heart rate picked up. There's something about his stare.
"Y/N..?" he said quietly, his voice soft. You kept staring, until you came to the realization he said your name.
"I'm sorry..! I wasn't watching you! Well I didn't mean to," you started, trailing off for a second trying to think of the right thing to say. You drew a blank. "You.. caught me off guard. I come in here to read, you startled me." He nodded, seeming to understand the slightly awkward situation, although he was a bit amused by your sudden awkwardness. You both stood there silently for a moment. He opened his mouth to say something, he hesitated.
"I'm also sorry, for startling you."
You smiled. He seemed so kind, he's nothing like how Sif described him. He moved slightly away from the door, closer to you. It's hard to find the right way to explain how his presence makes you feel, it's so calming yet intimidating.
"Well, I think I'll head back to my room." you said, smiling softly. "You can have the library to yourself." You began to make your way to the door to leave, but you were brought to a complete stop. Loki placed his hand on your shoulder, firmly gripping it. To say you were surprised by this is almost an understatement.
"Please stay..." he almost mumbled, but you could make it out. Slowly you turned a bit to face him as he continued to talk. "I'd like to talk to you a bit longer Y/N." You nodded. A very faint smile flashed upon his pale face.
