Meet Me In The Meadow

Chapter Two

I wake up with my head in Grayson's lap. Grayson and Ethan are sleeping as if they were just sitting on the couch. I smile, and carefully stand up. I grab the popcorn bowl, and start picking up the popcorn that we threw. I couldn't pick up all of it right now, I'd need to vacuum later.
I go upstairs, and realize it's bright outside. It's silent, so I think my family went out. I put the popcorn bowl on the counter, and head upstairs to my room. I go to my closet, and look through my clothes.
I decide on an "Okay? Okay." shirt, shorts, and converse.
I get started on my morning routine. I decide the just pull my blonde hair back into a pony tail. I look in my mirror, and I look horrible. I look exhausted. I grab my phone, it's 11:30. Geez. There is a note taped to my mirror.
Elizabeth,
We went out to breakfast with the Dolan's. We are going to go places, and should be back tonight.
Mom
I sigh and head downstairs. Grayson and Ethan are already up. "Think you could've taken any longer?" Grayson does his head tilting thing. "I was up before you guys." I point at them and Grayson rolls his eyes. Ethan's making a bowl of cereal.
We eat our breakfasts talking about nothing.
"So, what do you want to do today?" I ask, taking my bowl to the sink. I pick up Grayson and Ethan's too. "We could go to the movies." Grayson says. I groan,"Its summer, Gray! I am not going to sit in a movie for three hours." "Fine." Grayson tries to act disappointed.
"I want to go to the beach." Says Ethan. "Me too." We just sit there in silence for a minute. Grayson breaks the silence,"But we don't have a ride." I sigh, and yet again, we sit there in silence. That's when I remember that my friend Abbie's older sister is in town and can probably take us.
I jump up, and squeal. I grab my phone and the twins look at me concerned. i start texting Abbie
Me: Hey Queen
(Long story. Don't ask.)
Abbie: Hey
Me: I have a favor...
Abbie: not going to let you take my swimsuit again. You lost my other one.
Me: very funny. :| that's not it.
Abbie: spit it out
Me: can we get a ride from your sister
Abbie: who's we?
Me: Gray Ethan me you
Abbie reads the text but doesn't reply. I lock my phone. "Abbie's sister might be able to take us. And her." Gray raises an eyebrow,"Did she actually say she 'might be able to' or that just you talking?" I bite my lip,"Just me?" Gray rolls his eyes,"Don't get my hopes up like that!"
My phone rings.
Abbie: she said she can take us. Where?
Me: beach?
Abbie: that's an hour drive! Gladly.
She answers immediately. I laugh, and the twins walk over to see what's so funny. Ethan grabs my phone. When he hands it back it rings. She responded. "What did you say?" Ethan just smirks. "Ethan Dolan! What did you say?!" He just smirks,"You'll have to see to find out." I Put in my passcode, and whisper,"Well now I'm scared."
He had just said that Abbie better not bring her phone.
Abbie responded: wtf do you not know me? I'm taking my phone.
Me: haha sorry that was Ethan. When you coming?
Abbie: be there in 5
"You're lucky it wasn't something bad." I glare at Ethan. "Why? What would you do, Fizzy?" I can't keep glaring. I just laugh. "What the heck? Fizzy? That's.." I am continue I'm laughing so hard.

Ethan climbs into the very back where Abbie is, and Grayson and I sit in the middle. "Hey Jess." We all say to Jessica, Abbie's sister.
The car ride was getting pretty boring, so everyone decided to play music from my phone. They decide on one of my playlists, and Jess plugged it in. She pressed shuffle and the music came on.
First was "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. The four of us yelled the lyrics out the car windows. Next was "Reflections" by MisterWaves. I don't remember what else was on the playlist but we all yelled every single one of the lyrics out the window to the people in the other cars.

"We should sit over here!" Abbie starts walking over to a spot on the beach. "No. We should sit over here!" I say. Ethan and Grayson roll their eyes. "How about we sit here." Ethan says motioning to the in between of the two spots. Abbie and I glare at each other. "Whatever." We say in unison.
After we put our stuff down, we all head toward the water. We play around for a bit, then come back out. We are all laying on our towels when Abbie says,"Jess says we should go up to the car now." We pack up and head back to the car.
Basically we did the same thing going back, except to the radio.

When Jess drops us off, our parents cars are in the driveway. "Crap." The twins look at me. "I forgot to tell my parents we were heading out." I shrug,"I'll just die. No big deal." I slowly open the front door, and hear talking coming from the direction of the kitchen.
"We're home!" We walk inside and take off our shoes. "Elizabeth. Where were you all day? What do you think you were doing? Hi boys. You think you can just leave without letting us know where you're going?!" Ethan, Grayson, and I start laughing. My mom always does that. She yells at me stops, says hi to whoever is also there, then continues yelling at me. It's actually very funny.
"Jess took us and Abbie to the beach." My mom takes a deep breath,"Next time let us know where you're going, Elizabeth. We, I, was worried sick." She walks back tit eh kitchen. "Well, you didn't die." Grayson says. I playfully punch his arm,"Shut up Grayson."
