And it just so happens that Minnie did not ask him to tutor a failing student so he offers to. ( His mother raised him to be a gentleman! )
Cate isn't really on board with the whole idea of working with the guy who tried to pester Lily Evans into dating him for five years straight, but she doesn't really have any other options at this point!

NOTE here it is! i hope you enjoy chocolate cake... i've kind of had this plot idea for a long time but for harry but i realised that it wouldn't make sense with him. originally, cate needed a tutor for dada but it wouldn't work, because cate's a hufflepuff so she wouldn't have been excluded from the da or something. so since it doesn't work as a harry plot i changed it to a james plot because james is just 💘😍💖🥰🤩💞😳.
EDIT ( 21/12/21 ) a) reputation is their album and b) don't judge the quality of the gifs bc the lack of suki gifs makes me want to put my head through a wall!
