A blush creeped across Ash's face, "I don't know about the greatest, but I just want my pokemon to be happy. If joining me does that then I'm happy with that choice."
May just shook her head with a smile. She reached up kissed his lips softly, "Ash Ketchum you are one of a kind. You're a great man, an amazing trainer and the best boyfriend." Their lips were mere centimeters away from each other, "And most importantly you're the love of my life." With that the two trainers pulled themselves together sharing a deep ppassionate kiss that seemed to never end.
Finally the two separated for a need of air, breathing heavily they stared into each other's eyes. The love they shared between each other flowed freely like a raging river and they knew that nothing could come between them.
Ash smiled at May, "Thank you for that May, but I always want everyone happy and to make their own choices. I know with my pokemon, my friends, family, and you by my side I feel like nothing can stop me."
May smiled at his comment,"I know what you mean Ash, I feel the same way. Now let's go get our things and head out to the next stop."
Pikachu hopped from Ash's shoulder and walked alongside Glaceon infront of the group as they headed back to their room, Lucario followed behind Ash, and the two trainers intertwined their fingers smiling at the warmth they felt inside. After a quick check through they had everything packed up, they checked out of the Pokemon Center and headed down the road once again.
"So Ash what is the best way to get to Maiden's Peak?" May asked as they made their way through town.
"Well I thought we could take a ferry since it would be faster than going all the way around and back tracking. That would also get us there in time for the festival they hold." He replied.
"There's a festival there? What kind is it?" May asked.
"Yeah every year they hold a festival during the summer and people come to pay their respect to maiden who died waiting for her lost love. At the end they release small boats with lights to help guide the spirits home." Ash explained as they beagn to walk through the trees.
"That sounds amazing I'm glad we're going, because I'd like to see all that." The brunette coordinator said happily.
"You didn't ever stop there when you were traveling through Kanto?" He asked.
"Well between competing in contests and looking for you I didn't have much extra time." May answered.
"Oh... I didn't realize that I took up so much of everyone's time. That's not what I wanted to happen." The raven haired trainer replied looking at the ground, feeling slightly ashamed of himself.
Ash felt May stop suddenly and pull him around to face her, "Ash its ok, we chose to look for you, because we all care about you and because we wanted to know you were safe. Don't feel ashamed for your actions, you did what you needed to do and all that matters is you're back." May looked directly into Ash's eyes and continued, "If you hadn't have left, everyone who came together and found love might not have had that happen. You left to grow and get stronger, and in away so did all of us."
Ash smiled at his girlfriend pulling her into his arms holding her close, "Thank you May, you always have the right thing to say and helping me see a different perspective." He pressed his lips to hers before they continued through the trees.
They walked for a little over an hour before coming to the dock that would take them to Maiden's Peak. May waited with the pokemon while Ash went to go get their tickets. She sat near the waters edge enjoying the view when Ash came back to them.
"So they said the last ferry for the day already left but there will be one first thing in they morning." Ash explained, "We could just wait or I can go back to town and get my Gyarados."
"I'm fine with staying here for the night," May said, "I know the Pokemon Center is close by but I think sleeping out here by the shore would be amazing." She said with her blue eyes gazing at the peaceful ocean before them.
"I like that plan May, we can setup camp just at the edge the trees and enjoy the beach and water." Ash replied with a smile.
While Ash and May began setting up camp they let their pokemon out to enjoy the fresh air and play. Ash had sent Scrafty back to the lab so he could have Flaffy with him and begin her training. The shiny pokemon was already familiar with Ash's pokemon so there wasn't real a need to warm up to but her strength was a ways away from the rest. While they played Ash secretly told them to push her limits a little to begin getting her strength up.
May watched the group play after she finished getting a fire started and she smiled seeing how happy everyone was. Looking back towards Ash who was setting up the tent she couldn't help but smile to herself, after all their adventures and the heartache of losing Ash she was finally where she wanted to be. Whether they were traveling, battling, or in a home together all she wanted was to be with him.
Ash was having similar thoughts, ever since he left Hoenn he felt like something wasn't right and although he was happy it never was true happiness. Once he returned and seen May once again he knew thats where he belonged by her side for forever.
Once they were all settled in and set up, May and Ash began to cook their dinner and prepare the pokemon food. Sitting around the fire they found peace in the crackling of the flames and the gentle sound of the water coming onto the beach. With their bellies full the pokemon began to doze off and the camp was filled with the sounds of peaceful slumber.
Ash sat with his arm around May as they enjoyed the moment and each other's presence. Staring up the stars Ash felt as if he was invincible with May by his side. May looked into Ash's chocolate eyes and felt her heart burn with passion of a million suns, and she knew that she could do anything she set her sights on with him cheering her on.
Feeling May's head lightly fall in his shoulder Ash looked down at her and smiled seeing her sleeping face, "May let's go lay down for the night." He said with a gentle shake to wake her up.
"Ok Ash I'm ready for a good rest." She replied with a yawn. Returning their pokemon they called into the tent and lied town next to each other and let sleep carry them to their dreams.
At that moment a figure was slowly moving through the waters with one thought on its mind, a certain raven haired trainer was its target.
