14: Blame

"It might be better if we do it tomorrow. It's already dark outside and you're still hurt." stated Zemo.

——the next day——

I woke up to a sudden thud at the door, shooting me up from the sofa.

I glanced everywhere, trying to understand the reason of the noise.

"Whoops! Yeah, just leave it there! Thank you so much mister Zemo." thanked Catherine as Helmut put the couch down.

They then noticed me being awake "Hi miss L/N. Catherine wanted help with renovating her house, hope we didn't wake you up."

I nodded, my head still feeling light. "It's okay, good morning."

Zemo paused for a moment but then started talking about the plan he had prepared. I couldn't pay attention as I was still in a gazing state. "....that's how you'll become innocent to the public." he finished.

I nodded, not understanding a word but pretended I did. I stood up and walked towards the kitchen, where Cath was making us coffee.

"Oh. No coffee for me, please!" I begged, putting my hands over my cup.

"Oh silly me! I completely forgot that you don't drink that type. Only Mutacha, right?"

I giggled about it but the way she spelled it reminded me of Tony, causing me to shake my thoughts away. "It- It's called Matcha."

"Well, surprise surprise! I bought a bag of it this morning just for you!"

"Aw, Cath you shouldn't have!"

She hugged me by the side, smiling at me as a 'you're welcome'.

"We should go. The reporters are waiting for us." interrupted Zemo.

I looked over at the television and saw the news. There was live footage of a building smokes coming out of it and the windows shattered.

///"A sudden explosion in the famous building of Lutherbridge has happened, leading citizens trapped inside. The police is on it's way to rescue everyone as we're trying to find the cause."////

I looked at the hand of Zemo, he was holding his phone and the screen had a message saying "Explosion confirmed and completed"

I slapped him across the face "ARE YOU INSANE? YOU JUST CAUSED AN EXPLOSION!"

"Calm down, I told you that when I was explaining the plan! It's only to make them believe that I'm the bad guy! The explosion is only an effect, noone will die."

"We should go."

Zemo was on the rooftop of a very high building, making him look tiny to the citizens that were recording him from the streets.

The place was full of cameras and microphones, at first I was supposed to go undercover with sunglasses and a hat; and hide among the reporters but we decided to change it last minute. I was tied with a rope on my hands but it was loose and easy enough for me to release myself whenever I wanted. Zemo entered the stage he had prepared for him in the rooftop and talked in the mic, the voice in the speakers echoing down the block.

"I am here to say that I have broken up the Avengers and my plan has gone perfectly well. Y/N L/N was nothing but a mousetrap for you all to believe. But sadly, she refused to give me information about the Avengers and I'll have to kill her now." he stopped and looked at me.

Catherine, pretending to be the 'villain's right hand' roughly took me by my arm and brought me to the edge of the roof.

A helicopter started flying on top of us, making my hair get over my face because of the wind. As I was struggling with my sight I saw Natasha inside it, shouting at Zemo to not do anything stupid.
