NARRATIVE
"E-NEWS posted an article about us," Penelope snickered as she scrolled through the post on her phone.
Louis was laying with his head on her chest as Penelope sat propped up against her pillows. They'd made things official some time after their first date. They agreed to take things slow, both kind of new to the entire relationship 'thing'.
"Why am I not surprised?" Louis mumbled tiredly. Penelope gave a small smile, wrapping his loose curls around her finger.
A small sigh left her lips. "This sucks." Penelope drawled. "I hate how complete strangers are practically controlling our relationship!"
"So what do you want to do?"
Penelope bit down on her lip, deep in thought. If they went public then she'd have to face the shame and hatred that came with it. Even Louis posting her for her birthday gave her a small preview of what was to come.
But they couldn't be together in secret forever. Plus, Penelope was never the backing down type really.
"We should just go public, right?" Penelope finally concluded. "Unless you're not read—"
"No," Louis quickly cut her off. "I would love for the world to know Penelope Depp is my girlfriend." He sat up to look at her.
Just a hint of a smile present on her lips, Louis leaned in to gently kiss her.
Penelope slipped her hand through his hair —— deepening the kiss when Lily suddenly barged into her room.
"I'm getting ready—" She paused in her tracks seeing the two awkwardly spaced apart on the bed and visibly flustered. "...to go out with Timmy."
"Okay!" Penelope nodded happily. Louis avoided Lily's gaze, eyes glued to his lap.
Lily shuffled back to the door hesitantly. She turned around one last time "Make good choices, okay?" She asked.
The younger Depp looked stricken. "Yeah Lils... got it."
"Safe practi—"
"Oh my God please get out!" Penelope shouted before Lily could finish the God awful sentence. Lily exited her sister's room with a satisfied smirk.
Louis sunk down against the headboard a little as Penelope let out a sigh of contempt.
"Do you ever just want to strangle your sister?" She stared ahead.
"Occasionally." Louis answered truthfully. Penelope chuckled softly.
She scooted closer to him again, clutching onto his side. Louis curled his arm around her. His thumb tracing light patterns on her hip.
