They say oh my God I see the way you shine

Take your hand, my dear, and place them both in mine

You know you stopped me dead while I was passing by

Lizander was walking through the forest as the icy breeze went through his midnight black hair. His ocean blue eyes admired the beautiful forest he found himself in. He sang beautiful melodies that echoed through the forest alongside his laughing friends. The sound of giggles went through the air and got lost in the wind as Lizander and his friends just lived in the moment. All their fears and stress flew out of the window. The trees in the forest let in a little bit of light as the day went on. The secrets that the forest held were kept in the shadows as not even the forest wanted to ruin such a happy moment for the group of close friends. It all felt amazing for Lizander. It felt too good to be true. And maybe it was. But either way, all good things eventually must come to end.

This was not your ordinary forest. On the outside it looked like a beautiful forest that held a magic. The kind of magic that made you want to go towards it and get lost in it. Almost like a trap. Almost. But parents knew better. Most parents would not let their children run around in the beautiful forest. No matter how beautiful, there was still a mystery to what the forest really held behind the trees. On the inside of the forest, there are – and always will be – dark secrets. The type of secrets that will make your ears bleed if you hear. The forest sent shivers down your spine if you dare made eye-contact with it.

There were many stories about the forest. The forest was known to change people and how they think. The most popular story was about a group of kids that went into the forest. Alissa, Marie, Daniel and Mattis. One day the kids decided that they were sick of listening to rules and wanted to prove that breaking rules was not going hurt anyone. They skipped school and ran to the forest. They wanted to prove that the stories told about the forest were wrong.

The story says that once the kids went into the forest, they had the time of their life and made memories that were going to stay with them for the rest of their life. After the kids ran around for what felt like hours, they decided to sit down together and take a rest. Alissa, Marie and Daniel sat down and let the wind and silence relax them. But after a few minutes they got back up and were ready to go home. Alissa looked at her best friends with a smile on her face before she realized something was wrong. Mattis was not with them. She asked Marie and Daniel, but they had no idea where he went. The 3 went on a search through the forest looking for Mattis. After a few minutes, Daniel and Alissa stopped looking and started freaking out. As they were talking, something hit Alissa. Where's Marie?

Alissa and Daniel started to panic. After standing around for a bit, Daniel told Alissa that maybe they left without them to try and play a prank. Alissa and Daniel decided to leave the forest and check back at school. Alissa felt her heart drop when she thought about what could be happening to her friends. They could be anywhere. Dead or alive. She did not want to worry Daniel with her thoughts, so she kept her mouth shut and kept walking. After a while of walking, Alissa felt like they were just going in circles. When she turned around to share her theory to Daniel, she realized no one was standing behind her. Alissa screamed and felt her heart drop to her stomach. This was no longer a game; everything became real suddenly. It hit Alissa that she may not leave the forest alive. She ran and she ran, and she did not look back. Alissa felt like the forest had no exit. Like she was stuck in there. She stopped running for a bit and tried to catch her breath. She leaned over on a tree and just looked up at the little bit of sky she could see through the trees.

Alissa got back up and looked down at the ground as she thought about how she was going to get out. She was determined to make it out of there. She started running again, and this time she was going to make sure she found a way out. Suddenly she felt a bright light on her, and she realized she was finally out of the forest. She ran home and just sat outside her house. She smiled at the sun and just relaxed on the ground. She looked down as she was getting up and realized the red stains on her shirt and her hands. She thought it was just ketchup or something and just shrugged it off. She snuck back into her house through her window and went to shower. While she was in the shower, she felt no sadness and the thought that something bad could be happening to her friends did not even cross her mind. She had a smile on her face for the rest of her life that never came off. Like it was stuck there from glue. Legend has it, she still goes back to the forest to see her friends.

Maybe the story was made-up and that forest really was just a happy place. But there is always a chance that the story was real. Let us not forget that history can always repeat itself. Who knows?
