Chapter 1- Change

Welp, it's here, finally. I'm a lazy fuck so it took me a little bit to actually start writing this story..

Anyways, enjoy I guess. Don't come crying to me when I ruin your childhood.

It was another day, another boring day at that. I do the same thing every morning, the mushroom Toads make me breakfast and I eat. They arrange my meetings with the other princesses and we end up talking for hours about nonsense. After that, I wait and I wait and then finally my lovely boyfriend Mario and his brother Luigi come over and we eat some cake together. It was starting to get tiring.

I sat on my throne with my head in my hand as I waited for the brothers to arrive. This time I decided to prepare something other than cake so I was hoping they wouldn't be too upset about it. I tapped my finger against my cheek as a blue mushroom Toad ran up to me. 

"Princess, Mario and Luigi have arrived!" He says. I lift my head with a smile, finally they had arrived it was getting a bit lonely without anyone here to talk to.

I stood up and lifted the front of my fluffy pink dress softly as I walked down the few steps in front of me. I walked through the halls with the blue mushroom Toad as we headed towards the dining hall. Once we got there the small mushroom opened the doors for me. I was greeted with warm smiles by Mario and Luigi. Mario had jumped up letting out an excited noise as he ran over to me. We hugged each other before looking into each other's eyes.

I loved Mario, I really did but there was something about him that made me unhappy. I felt like our relationship wasn't going anywhere. I felt as if there was no excitement  in our relationship. We didn't do much together outside of the castle, he would always come to visit me but I never went to him. He never asks me to go out with him places or anything like that. And our sex life, oh our sex life, the fire was going out.

"Peach," Mario said with his sexy Italian accent as he looked up at me, "I have a surprise for you today and I really hope you'll like it." 

I smiled at him with the same smile I always give to him as I nodded my head, "Any surprise from you I'd always love." 

Mario grinned at me as he grabbed my hand gently. We walked towards the table and sat beside each other. I noticed something was a bit off about Luigi today, his face had been a bright red and he had been smiling really hard. I didn't question it too much, maybe he had been nervous, for whatever reason that could be. 

I shook my head softly as I changed my expression to a bright smile. I had been waiting for this moment all day, the first "change" for me. "Boys, instead of making cake I've decided to make a cherry pie. It's the first time I've tried this so I hope you both like it.." I said softly as my cheeks turned a light pink.

Luigi grabbed his fork and knife, "Well I bet it taste great. I can't wait to dig in!" 

I smiled at the both of them as I cut them both a piece of pie before cutting a piece for myself. We sat there silently as we ate the pie, my thoughts at the moment were running wild. Nothing too crazy but I think I might've zoned out at the table. As I continued to get lost in my thoughts I heard a loud gulp then a dig on the side of a glass. I assumed they were attempting to get my attention.

I perked my head up as I looked over at Mario, he had began to start sweating as he stood up. I watched him all the way through, confused of what he was doing. He looked at me before speaking.

"Princess, you know that you and I have been dating for a while now.. and in my eyes you're the prettiest princess in all of this land. I love you with all my heart and I just wanted to know.." he continued as he got down on one knee, "Will you marry me?"

I froze, I was completely shocked. I loved Mario, I really do but this isn't what I want from him. I wasn't ready to get married, at least not to Mario. As sweet as he was he had nothing to offer me and it really did make me sad. 

I couldn't even speak, I opened my mouth but before I can get the words out I heard the roof make a loud thud. My eyes widen as I saw henchmen of different kinds enter my castle, and at the center of it all was a dragon. This was the first time I've ever seen- no experienced something like this. The dragon was sitting inside of cloud float, he came towards me at a high speed.

Mario and Luigi came to my defense as quickly as they can, but the dragon got around them. He grabbed me and covered my mouth. I screamed but it was muffled by the beast's paw. He and only a small portion of the henchmen he came with headed back the direction he came.
