"WAHHHH WAHHHH" the cries of a newborn echoed through the walls of Mustafu General Hospital. A man with messy white hair looked nervously at the door in front of him. Pass that door was his wife that has just given birth to his newborn boy or girl, it didn't really matter. He felt a wave of relief wash over him. His wife's pregnancy had not been easy, as it had extended to almost a year, making this a high-risk birth. But even with the reassurance that his newborn was alive and well, he could not be calm until he had both of them in his arms or at least see them.

He started scratching the green scales that adorned his neck. A nervous tick he had picked up in his years as a lawyer. His wife always said it made him look adorable. Said scales were a part of his quirk and also a source of insecurities for him. It was the reason he was bullied for most of his life. And now they were resurging with renewed force.

"What if they don't like them? What if they hate them? What if they hate ME because of them?" He thought as he stopped the scratching and tugged on his white t-shirt with the word "t-shirt" written on it in kanji.

"Mr. Midoriya?" The nurse's voice made him spring from his chair and snap his yellow eyes at her, making a beeline for the door.

"How are they? Is my wife alright? How did the delivery go? Is the baby healthy? Were there any complications?.. Is it a boy or a girl?  Wich of us do they take after? Would they like my scales or would they have scales of their own? And if that's the case, would they love them or hate them?..." He started saying before ending in a mutter. Of which he was brought out of when the voice of his wife called to him.

"We are fine. It's a baby boy and he takes after you quite a lot. As for the scales, I guess you'll have to come and see, Hisashi" looking around there she was in all her glory, he could swear she looked even more beautiful than normal.

She sat in the hospital bed, her back against the headrest, a bundle of sheets on her arms. Her short dark green hair stopped short of her shoulders. She had emerald green eyes and, coupled with her trademark 100 wat smile, she seemed to shine. A soft smile placed itself upon Hisashi's lips. His yellow gaze softened as well.

He directed himself to the bed and sat beside it. Hisashi posed his eyes on the bundle as his wife let him see who was behind the sheets. He was awestruck. His son had white skin, with four freckles on each cheek in the form of diamonds. He had a tuff of light green hair on top of his head but, by far his most interesting feature was the rather small green scales that covered his collar bone.

Hisashi extended his arms and the greenette complied. Handing their baby to his father. Cradling the sleeping form of his son he asked his wife.

"How do you want to call him, Inko?" At this Inko perked up, she had almost fallen asleep like their son was right now.

"I'm... Not sure..." She started "on one hand I want it to be a beautiful name, on the other..." She stopped for a moment causing her husband to look at her, locking gazes "I also want it to be a reminder of all the trouble we went through during my pregnancy. I don't know if you under-"

"I do understand what you mean, Inko" he interrupted her "You want it to be a constant reminder of 'hey, it took time but we did it' no?" She noded.

The baby, just now noticing he had been moved from the embrace of his mother, stirred awake. Feeling this Hisashi looked down at him. His eyes opened to reveal two beautiful orbs of emerald as he looked up with curiosity at the man that was holding him.

Hisashi was enthralled by the orbs of his son, he could not divert his eyes from them. The baby continued to look at him until something caught his attention. His eyes diverted from his father's and centered on the scales of his neck. The white-haired man hoy self-conscious at this, his insecurities coming back at full force.

The boy didn't seem to care as he extended his small arms towards the neck of the man. Noticing this Hisashi reluctantly brought him up nearer his neck. When the baby was close enough he latched on to the man's neck and started rubbing his little face against its scales.

To say that Hisashi was surprised was an understatement. He expected him to break out crying at the sight of them, maybe laugh at them but nothing like this. A pretty big smile stretched across his face as he tightened the grasp on the baby. Inko watched this scene with a soft, tired smile, she knew how Hisashi felt about his scales, so to see his son loving them was a huge morale boost. Her eyes slowly closed and she fell asleep, unknowingly to the two males.

Hisashi was enjoying the quality time he was forging with his son, but his mind was still on the matter of what name to give the bundle of joy that was leaving him without air! He quickly pulled his son from the tight lock he had him in and squished him against his chest. The baby didn't seem to mind as he started nuzzling against it and all but fell asleep after a minute.

Looking up the white-haired man watched his wife basking in a peaceful slumber. His soft smile never faltered, if anything it had only grown bigger by the minute. But his mind was going overdrive looking for the perfect name for the greenette in his arms.

"Kumiko...? No... Miku...? ...No... Lestari? No... Hisato...? Maybe... Ku... Wait... Izuku?"  he lets out a chuckle, how funny would it be to call his son that. He who came out after a long time. He laughed some more and looked back down at the baby sleeping soundly in his chest.

Giving it more thought it was actually a good name for the boy. It checked out both conditions of his wife, it was reminiscent of what had transpired with Inko's pregnancy and the name itself was beautiful, at least to his ears. Not only that but he could see it as a pun name to laugh about it, not at his son for having it but Hisashi himself for coming up with it.

He saw it as a pretty solid option but he would have to bring it up with Inko to be sure. Yet, unknowingly to even himself, his mind was already made up the name of his son would be...

Izuku Midoriya
