It was a normal day. That's what everybody always says. No matter how weird a day is we just kind of ignore the weird parts and Focus on the really bad or good parts of the day. The weird parts were just there and we don't wanna waste any more time or thoughts on them. But maybe that's stupid. Because maybe those tiny weird moments are the moments we should question...maybe these moments could help us...warn us...or save us from Bad things happening to us. How was I supposed to know that October 15th could've warned me? After all I was just a rainy saturday afternoon at work. Nothing really seemed off to me. I was sorting books back into the shelves of the library But that day I was focusing on the raindrops hitting the tin roof. I had always loved the Sound of Rain, it always had something calming in my opinion. I didn't notice the tall, middle aged woman with dark blonde hair until she started speaking. "Hello Lilith"
She called me Lilith. Which should've been the first Red flag of that day. "I am sorry...I didn't notice you" I turned around to look at her and for some reason she looked oddly familiar...I just couldnt pin it. There it is...second Red flag..again ignored it... "And my Name is Lilian, how can I help you?" "Lilian?" The woman looked at me confused "you look a lot like Lilith...." she mumbled "whatever...I have these books I need to return!" That woman really confused me and I was really happy when my Boss came in and told me I could go home now! While leaving I was able to pick up on her name "Willow Johnson". And with that I blew off the thought that she looked familiar just because her name didn't Sound familiar at all. She wasn't my problem...except she kind of was but I didn't know that and I never would've thought she could be... I had other things to worry about! Like the fact that I was about to move to weeks from that day and I wanted to Check out that one second hand Shop a few minutes down the road from the library and I was too impatient to wait until monday to go there I decided to walk there immediatly after work. Walking there I was already really excited to see if they have anything interesting and to escape this damn Rain. I stopped in front of the Shop after about 10 minutes of walking, of course completely soaked but I really didn't care. The Shop didn't look special from outside, it looked to be pretty small, with a big Window right next to the door on which the Name of the Shop was written "Second Chance" unlike the Windows, that were way to packed for my liking, I actually really liked the Name and the General idea of it. It didn't Sound like selling or Buying items that had already been used but more like giving things a second life and I loved the concept of that way more. I decided to enter the Shop after about 5 minutes of just standing outside and looking at the Windows and trying to Figure out every Single thing that was put there, that was a waste of time by the way because there was no way I was gonna be able to see everything, and I was stunned by how beautiful it was inside. Nobody could ever guess how gorgeous it would actually be inside, by the outside Look. The store had high ceilings that were decorated with some beautiful golden embellishments and chandeliers hanging from it. The Walls were painted in a beautiful dark Green colour but the room was filled with so much Light from the chandeliers and a Big Window in the middle of the ceiling. It was just generally beautiful. Like the Windows the store was really full of Items but it was still a lot more uncluttered than the Windows. I couldn't seem to find anyone working at the Shop which was also kind of weird to me but it didn't seem to be a really Busy Shop either so I didn't think this through any further there was probably just someone in the back not expecting anyone to enter the Shop today. I looked through the whole Shop and didn't find anything that really caught my eyes except for a few old books. I mean don't get me wrong they had a lot of interesting things, like Vases, Closets, Clothes and all the normal stuff you'd expect in a second hand Shop. But when I was ready to Pay for the books and call it a day and I walked over to the front of the Shop, I saw a beautiful old mirror with a golden Frame I don't know what it was but I could not walk past it so after arguing with myself over how useful it could be and if I really need it I decided to just buy it and when I turned around to start looking for an employee or a Shop owner and there he was sitting there reading a book like he had always been sitting there. Ding ding ding third red flag...but did I pick up on it? Nope...of course not....whatever...I went over to the old man "ummm excuse me...do you work here?" Stupid question! As if a random guy would just be sitting in a second hand Shop reading a book. "Of course I do! How can I help you" he muttered in a confused voice. "Well I would like to buy these books" I said holding them up "and that mirror over there" I pointed at it. "T-that mirror? Are you sure you want it?" He stuttered. "Uhhh yes...yes I mean I was arguing a little bit with myself about if u really need it and about how useful it actually is but I came to the conclusion that buying it is the only way to find out if I need it or not...so yes I am pretty sure I want it!" "Well...if you really want it, you can have it and the books for free...only condition is you have to take it home immediately!" "What? Really? I don't mind paying for it!" "No! No you can have it for free! Just take it home with you now!" the Shop owner insisted "and good luck!"
There it was...fourth red flag.. but I was too happy about getting this mirror for free to notice it. "Thank you! That is really nice of you but you really didn't have to!" "I did! It was the least I could do! Thank you for taking it and I hope you have a great day!" "You too" I walked over to grab the mirror and leave the store. On my way out I turned around to say bye to the owner but he was gone. Weird right?
