Doyoung couldn't stay in his spot for long. The murderer was smarter than that, and so was he. He moved on, keeping stealthy steps as his shoes pressed against soft yet rocky ground. The male crouched down behind another stand not too close nor far from his previous position. He pulled out his phone to check the map again, lowering the brightness to decrease the light coming off from his screen. As his eyes danced around the pathways, he memorized where the entrance and tents were, then shut it off. He could do it. Doyoung wanted to get home, but he also needed to obtain some footage of this bastard walking around. He wanted the man locked up, sent away till his only release would be rotting in his cell.
Although, he figured it would be best to check the main doors at least, to make sure he had an escape route. The male looked to his sides then over the table before leaving his ground, walking over to where he knew the entrance was. The whole time he felt his body on edge, muscles tensed ready for Taeyong to jump out and stab him. With apprehension pounding against his chest, he made it over to the black gates from earlier. They were closed, like before. Doyoung pushed on them how he recalled his girlfriend doing, except they didn't budge. His heart stopped for a split second, then his arm tried again. It didn't move, not one bit. The man cursed to himself, he could see his car from between the painted bars, so close but so far. He grabbed onto the bars, shaking them again to try and move the frame, but it didn't work.
He was stuck in this hell.
Doyoung put his head down, sighing in despair, failure, and regret. This was all his fault. He bought the tickets himself, he let Ryuneun convince them to go, he remembered himself smiling thinking how great the trip would be.
Now he felt absolutely pathetic.
A sound of heavy tapping then crisp gravel came in shot, Doyoung's head picked up to the direction it came from. Barely, he could see a black figure within the rainbow aesthetic.
If he saw him, the man could see him too. Doyoung turned the other way and started speed walking. He wanted to run, but the sound of the trail caused more noise than wanted. How did people deal with the gravel?! Maybe they didn't need to care when all that was in mind was their excitement.
Doyoung could hear the crunch behind him, it wasn't his own footsteps for certain. He was being followed. With panic circling in his mind, he swerved his direction and ran into a tent. Inside the blue and white striped, hung cloth was a cage, some props, and a few chairs with a desk. He had no clue what the smaller tents were meant for, there wasn't time to think of a reason when he heard the sound of footsteps picking up.
The male hid underneath the table, squeezing his large body into the empty space somehow and curling his legs to hide behind a tucked in chair. He held his breath.
A shadow came in view, the outline of hair and a face showing. The face turned towards his tent.
His eyes shut tight, thinking of the worst but hoping to god it wouldn't occur.
Feet stopped making noise, then the sound of footsteps coming into his tent. The silence was enough to choke. Doyoung opened his eyes, they got bigger seeing thin, long legs in view dead ahead.
Taeyong stood there, turning his upper body around to glimpse at the area. He paused for long, but never moved. What the fuck was he doing?!
After a minute of tension, the man turned around and continued out. Doyoung waited till he couldn't hear walking anymore, then came out stretching from the rough posture he forced himself in. It could've gone far more worse, but that was enough to make him sweat. He stepped out of the tent, he knew it was safe inside but the chances of Taeyong returning were high.
As soon as Doyoung came out, the brightness hit him across the face, pouring red, green, blue, pink, and other colors onto him and the sidewalks. All the variegated lights, they should've been enjoyed with Ryuneun. It was beautiful though to be honest.
That beauty didn't last long.
Without a warning everything went black. The lights shut off at once, some fading out slowly while others didn't care dying as soon as possible. Before he knew it, darkness consumed him as the theme park lost what made it innocent.
Doyoung pulled out his phone again, checking the time. 12:05 am. The lights were out because that's when the park closed, midnight. "Fuck, fuck fuck fuck!" He whispered harshly to deny his reality. There was no other way to see now, not when there were no lights at all. An idea sparked. He had his phone. Doyoung turned on his flashlight, glancing at the battery he had left. Forty two percent. He knew it wasn't enough to last two hours, he needed to make it count. Just as he turned it on, he could see another light in the distance moving.
Taeyong probably had a flashlight too, he wasn't too far either. Doyoung covered most of his light with his fingers, using the bare shine through to see where he was going. He ran across a snack stand, another small hiding place for him. Turning the light off, he crouched down behind it. The flashlight was getting closer. Why did he keep coming around this corner??
The male remembered he had to record the psycho. He held up his phone, tilting it to the side of the popcorn machine and clicking record.
The flash from the other's cell phone lit up the paths, letting his camera know someone was there. In the dark however, it was hard to capture their face. Doyoung clicked his tongue, he needed their face badly. The killer was already known from the news, all he needed was the identity. He paused to think, putting his phone down before stopping the recording. An idea came to mind. He could use his own flash to help light up the view and catch Taeyong's face, it was a huge risk however. He leaned against the stand, figuring it was best to just hide.
Just then, the picture of Ryuneun's body clicked in his mind. Her hollowed out eye sockets staring up, tan skin turned pale with all the blood drained from her, she died merciless and brutally. She deserved justice.
