PART OF THE STORY

Head on the steering wheel.
Everything is in slow motion.
All I know is I still want to live.
All I know is I still want me real.

A while ago we're screaming,
Now I can hear the police siren.
I did something bad and pride overridden.
I wish I didn't let it so you won't be crying.

I should have known.
Every fight is a part of the story,
Us fighting, then working things out.
But I did something bad, pages have blown.
Because I should have known,
That every curse we speak,
Is a part of the story.
I should have known.

I should have just let us go.
I should have just concealed the anger.
Because now I close my eyes and wait,
Hoping to see our future kids grow.

It was all part of the plan.
My head is on the steering wheel.
I blew things off and now regretted it.
I could have been a better man.

I should have known.
Every tear is a part of the story,
Us fighting, then working things out.
But I did something bad, pages have blown.
Because I should have known,
That every tear we shed,
Is a part of the story.
I should have known.

They reached for me.
And all I can feel is pain.
In my heart is more excruciating.
I know I cried and I just wish for you
to be happy.

But then I live and can see,
Everything is white and you're beautiful.
If this is heaven then don't wake me up.
It's all I want the happiness in your
eyes, baby.

I should have known,
That everything is part of the story,
Us fighting, then working things out.
I know, I never get to decide alone.
Because I should have known,
That every bad and good,
Is a part of the story.
And I should have known.
