nine - of blood and lust

Start from the beginning

–"i don't remember amber having red-" you heard a voice behind you say.

you turned your head around at the speed of light, being partially happy and partially mortified at the sight in front of you.

diluc had blood all over the side of his face and hands, he held his coat in his hands and the sleeves of his shirt were rolled up to his elbows.

–"diluc?" you began, cutting him off, "oh sweet seven i was so worried about you"

you stood up from the seat and hugged him without putting much thought into it. he seemed surprised, stiff for a moment before he relaxed into the hug. his arms wrapped around your shoulders and you felt his chest rise up and down with every breath he took.

–"how are you feeling?" he asked you after you released him, as if half his face wasn't covered in blood.

you scratched the back of your neck before pulling on his hand and leading him to the bathroom, never answering his question. he looked confused but didn't think much about your actions.

he was propped against a vanity, his head tilted to the side. his constant deadpanned observation over you while you wet a cloth under warm water was enough for the lump in your throat to appear again, this time it wasn't because of anxiety but just because of the way he made you feel smaller.

you approached him, holding one hand on the side of his face so you could clean the blood with the other hand. diluc was still looking at you, straight in the eyes.

–"why did you do it, diluc?" you asked him, still cleaning his face and trying your hardest to ignore the stare.

–"do what?" he asked.

–"you could've waited for me to heal, you didn't have to do all that" you said after a sigh.

–"you were in no state to fight, and you still aren't," he began, taking ahold of the bottom of your hand that held the cloth, "i don't know how i'm ever going to properly apologize to you" he admitted.

he held your wrist and brought your gaze to his, so you could see he truly meant it.

diluc felt like he was able to give away his life just to make sure you were okay. he had always thought of you as a blessing in his life, and the day he hurt you was something he would regret for the rest of his life.

you could see the absolute dread and pain in his eyes, the way they glossed over your own in expectancy of disgust on your face or a slap against his cheek.

though, that never happened, you only smiled apologetically and turned your head to look at something else to break the tension.

with the way he was holding your wrist, the way he was looking at you with half closed eyes and the way you were only a few inches away from each other made heat creep up to the back of your neck. he looked down at your lips and kept his gaze there, even if it felt selfish.

–"you have no idea what you do to me" he said, releasing your wrist from his hand.

–"well," you chuckled, "you're one to speak"

he looked back up and into your eyes, only to find them at his own lips. he smiled, placing a gloved hand on the side of your face. he leaned in towards your face while smiling, turning his head to the side. how could your feelings for him resist this moment?

the space between you closed, his lips over yours and your hands around his neck and in his hair. though his touch felt so wrong to your brain, it felt so right to your heart. and body.

when you weren't paying enough attention, he picked you up by the back of your thighs and placed you on the vanity he was previously leaned against. your lips moved together in sync, like you were born for this moment.

that is, until you heard the front door open and out of reflex you tried pulling away from diluc. he wouldn't budge though, his lips still moved with yours. he wasn't the only one to blame, it's like your body was working against your mind and you leaned in even closer to him.

–"amber might hear us-" you began, only to be cut off by diluc pressing his lips to your neck.

one of his hands traced down to your waist and you could swear you felt your heart on your tongue with the way it was beating. his other hand was on the side of your neck, his thumb under your jaw.

–"i couldn't care less" he stated, you could hear the smirk on his face in just the way he talked into your neck.

you could hear footsteps approaching the bathroom. the fear of getting caught was tipping you over the edge.

–"diluc i'm serious, amber is-" the sound of a knock on the door cut you off.

–"hey are you in there? you feeling any better?" amber asked.

diluc broke away from your skin with a finger over his mouth, as a warning to be quiet about his presence in the room.

–"say it again" he said in a deeper tone.

–"say what again?" you whispered.

diluc placed his cheek against yours, leaning in closer to your ear.

–"my name," he began, his warm voice making you gulp, "say it again"

he resumed on his work of leaving kisses over your collarbones to get what he wanted, he only went lower and lower. you accidentally let out a quiet moan when a kiss tickled a certain part of your skin.

–"yes! diluc i-" you whimpered at the gentle touch, making diluc smirk in victory, "i'm alright, amber!" you shouted back at her.

–"uhh you sure about that? you don't sound too good" you felt guilty over how concerned she sounded.

–"i'm okay!" you placed a palm over your mouth, keeping your eyes on the door just in case.

–"oh, alright then! i need to get something from jean so i'll be back later," she started, "will you manage?"

diluc's hand swam down your body from your waist to your inner thigh, gripping at it enough to hit every nerve just right.

–"yes! oh-" you stammered and bit the knuckle of your thumb, "i will, thank you!"

the footsteps were now getting away from the bathroom, making you sigh in relief.

this felt so new to you when it came to diluc, and you were dying to get used to this side of him.

for a second you got mad at diluc for almost getting you caught, crawling your fingers into the back of his head and pulling at his roots in order to detach him from the way he was stuck on you.

you only had to say one word to make him even happier then he was; to make him forget about your past just this once.

–"upstairs" you said.

turns out, you didn't end up following what the doctor said.
