"Bye otaku." Jordan waved at her.
Subomi only adjusted his glasses. Joanne noticing his abnormally quiet state, decided to pull a stunt. "Hey Subomi," he raised his head spontaneously.
"Who me?" he asked confused.
"No the other cute nerd behind you." She rolled her eyes. "Bye," she said.
"Oh," he blushed. "B-bye."
She started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. Cory entered the car and she drove off. "To your house, right?"
"No."
"Okay, where to then?"
"Just keep driving."
"Okay..." Joanne was confused as to why he was being moody, but she chose to just ignore him, she couldn't let his bad mood ruin her's. She pulled out her phone and connected it to the car's Bluetooth, playing life is good by future ft drake. Cory stopped the song.
"What the -?" she stared at the speakers. Realizing it was Cory's doing, she played it back and hummed along. He did it yet again, but this time she got mad.
"What's your problem?"
"Too loud." He said without looking at her, staring out the window.
She tilted his head a bit so she could see those disturbed green eyes of his. "You've been acting weird since we left - whatever that place is. What's wrong?"
He hesitated. "Cute nerd?"
"What?" She was confused. "Oh..." when she realized he was talking about earlier with Subomi. She was still confused, was he acting up because of what she said? "I don't understand, what does that have to do with anything?" Cory acted like a toddler at times. Why did that bother him so much? Or was he - no way, its Cory Williams we're talking about, why would he be?
"Cory... are you jealous?" She burst into laughter.
"W-what?" He flushed.
She covered her mouth, "Woah... so you are jealous."
"Don't be silly, of course I'm not. It's just as my girlfriend, you shouldn't exactly be calling other guys cute... it's like me calling Amanda sexy." Cory noticed the flare in her eyes when he said this, his mouth curved into a smirk. "Now wouldn't that be something, since she actually is."
Joanne rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just get weird with it and get obsessed over her stupid curves and doll face."
Cory chuckled. "You have an unusually good sense of humor, anyone ever tell you that?"
"This would be my first, so... thanks." She sighed. "Do you mind telling me where we're headed now since you're in a good mood."
"To your place." He smiled.
"Huh... my place?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"I wanna drop you off home. I'd get a substitute driver to take me home, so I thought maybe you could just go home. Besides, I wanna see Chloe again and hopefully not your mom, that woman scares the hell out of me."
Joanne didn't know what to say, but since he was offering a free day/night off, she wouldn't dare refuse. "Okay," she made a u-turn. "But you couldn't have told me earlier? We were at least some hours away from there on that road we were taking before."
"It would have been boring telling you. You know how addicted I am to fun."
And stress apparently. She rolled her eyes.
"Where'd you learn to talk like that?" Cory had a playful smile on his lips.
"Talk like how? Are you talking about cute nerd? Oh Cory, you've got to stop being so- "
"No no," he flushed but managed to cover it before she could noticed. "I was talking about before with Amanda. We may or may have not eavesdropped on your conversation."
Douche bags.
"I guess you can say I've always had it in me... it's weird though."
"Hmm, what is?"
"I haven't spoken to someone like that in years, it felt -"
"Good?" Cory peered in.
"Yeah, that. And the first was most definitely your dad, I didn't even know I had it in me, and all these happened ever since that evil project."
"You mean ever since you met me."
"Absolutely correct." She laughed.
"It sounds beautiful, you should do it more often. I hardly hear you do that."
"Laughing? Nah, it doesn't suit me." Did she really just laugh? She didn't even know she could still do that either. Everything had just been odd ever since she met this guy. Her entire life had been upside down, and nothing even made sense to her anymore.
"We're here." Joanne said parking in the front of her house. She would have a lot of explaining and bribing to do.
