Prologue

- ? POV -

The figure walked through the tall grass, the field damp from the never ending rain. They stopped in a clear area with lower grass. They tilted their head up, face exposed to the drizzle. They could feel the droplets softly land on their cheeks. 

The water was so cold, yet it made them feel warm inside. They closed their eyes and let out a sigh. They smiled as they took in the peaceful sound of raindrops hitting the grass and flower petals. 

They heard the soft rustling of grass behind them, making then open their eyes and turn their head. A silhouette approached, stopping a few feet away. They were holding a large umbrella over their head to keep them from the rain.

' ' This may take longer than I expected. . . ' ' The new silhouette spoke, their voice echoing softly.

The original figure nodded, turning back around and closing their eyes. 

' ' I promise, the job will be complete ' ' the figure spoke again, the echo slightly louder.

The original figure only nodded again. This displeased the silhouette, as they were trying to make this easy for them both.

The silhouette only let out a echoed groan, walking away. The sound of the rain hitting their umbrella was so calming, so it slightly annoyed the original figure when they left.

The figure looked down to the ground below them, seeing the soaked grass and flowers. They crouched down, staring at a few flowers in particular. 

They were a dull cyan, but looked much brighter and more beautiful in the gentle rain. A small smile pulled at their lips as they traced their finger tips over the petals. 

They were soft and silky, while also being warm and soaked. The petals were just perfect.

Almost as perfect as him. . . 

The figure frowned when they thought of him. How did it all go wrong? Were they the problem? Was he the problem?

It didn't matter. No matter what was the cause, he was still perfect.

Perfect. . .
