The assistant looks up, takes a deep breath and nods. "Hi, Miruko, my name is Jack, but thats not important right now, what is, is that you appear to have saved a kitsune, like a real one"

"Pfft, you believe this kid doc?" She smiled at the doctor.

"Given that he doesn't seem to have any records, quirk, or family, yes"

"What if he's just homeless, plenty of people probably aren't registered on your databases"

"I doubt a homeless person would have robes this nice" he motions to the robes the boy was wearing when he was saved "Not to mention, despite being buried in rubble, they're impeccably clean, I'm willing to hear the boy out" The doctor nodded and Miruko's face seemed to grow more serious.

"Okay, lay it on me kid" his face beamed.

"Glad you came around, lets get this started" he dug up a photo from the stack of papers, a photo of the shrine the boy was found in. "This is Y/N Shrine, rumored to be haunted by many many things, yet if you really look into it, what it all comes back to is a group of old old Japanese priests sealing away a malevolent brown kitsune with that gate." He rambled, digging up pictures as he went.

"So when I kicked that big dude into the gate and destroyed it..."

"You let him out, yes" the doctor chimed in.

"But it gets better" Jack spoke up "often kitsune will bond themselves to people who saved them, and we believe that you saving his life, three times mind you, might have bonded you two"

"Wait? Bonded, what does that mean?"

"Well...were not sure, there arent many solid sources, but a few reference a connection in mind, perhaps you can try and wake him up...like...psychically?" he said nervously.

"God...If this works...Fine, I will try it" she nods reluctantly and follows the two into the room.  before them laid the sleeping body of the boy. "So...you have no idea what I'm supposed to do do you?"

"Uh no...maybe try screaming at him but without really screaming"

"You're sure it'll work?"

"I saw it in a show" he shrugged.

She shook her head and did as he said. After a moment of staring at him, she sighed "Are you sure it'll work"

"Absolutely not, but look" the doctor pointed at the boy's head, his ears seem to be twitching slightly. "It seems to be doing something"

She went back to trying, harder and harder till her eyes went wide, her mouth dropping, she felt a click, like the last piece of a puzzle fit in her brain, the world seemed to swirl around her, for a moment she peered into another world, identical to hers but empty, aside from him.

"Miruko! Ms.Usagiyama!" she felt someone shaking her.

"Huh, oh, Jack..." she rubbed her eyes and looked up to see the supposed kitsune stretching and yawning.

"GOOOOOOD morning shri..." he looked around "this isnt my shrine...who are you three...WHERE ARE MY ROBES" he held the blanket around him.

"O-Oh, youre the kitsune right?" Jack spoke first

"Y-Yeah im a kitsune...what about it" his eyes darted around the room, "What happened to my shrine?!" He shouted again.

"Look look, im sure youre confused but, please be quiet and we can explain" the doctor said "Jack, grab his robes"

"I-I-Im actually bonded to a kitsune" Miruko muttered to herself, the fox's eyes turned to her.

"Please someone explain where I am and why im bonded to her"

"Look, youre in a hospital" the doctor started "You remember being trapped in that shrine yes?"  the fox nodded "So that happened about one thousand, and twenty years ago...your shrine was destroyed now and to make it obvious, the world has changed, a lot, and you might be the only kitsune left" The room went silent for a bit.

"You" he pointed at Rumi "You broke my shrine gate correct?" He eyed her up and down.

She simply nodded, still slightly confused by the situation.

"So you're who im bonded with now...interesting, OH my robes" he noticed jack walk in with his clothes, and pulled the curtain around the bed to hide him. "So, let me just make a few things clear" he stepped out after getting changed, holding his wooden sandals in his hands. "You are gonna help me figure out what the fuck im doing here, and in return...the worst part about this...I have to do what you say...and protect you" he said, sounding annoyed and dejected.

"So...I teach you how the world works...and I get a cute fox servant...doesn't sound like a terrible deal" she smiled

"Now you're catching on" he smiled "Now, lets go home" he hurried to the door before miruko grabbed him by the collar.

"Nope, you're explaining how this psychic link thing works first"

"When we get home?" he smiled at her, she could go for some food.

"...do you know how to cook"

"Of course" he said proudly

"Fine, we can do this at my house if you cook"

The doctor spoke up "Please do email us the details when you can, you should have my email"

"Yep" she nodded, and the doctor watched as the pair left

"I think we've found the key to unlocking quirks" He turned to jack "Let the boss know"
