RAIN PATTERED SOFTLY AGAINST the window of the small apartment. All of the lights were on, considering that it was the evening, and everyone that resided in the apartment was there, which wasn't many, just a couple and their two sons. One of the sons were in the living, watching the telly with their parents. The other was in his room, a feeble attempt at working on homework.

The boy's room was scattered with clothes half strewn on the floor, the rest were put away in the drawers neatly, and some old paint canvases. The unused canvases were put away neatly, still on the floor but in a pile right next to his desk, where he was working on the school work. This was the room of Eli Morgenstern.

He was resting his head on his arm, pencil in hand, tapping at the paper. His mind was blank and this essay was due by tomorrow.

He let his mind drift for a moment, what would Corvus do?

Corvus Black was Eli's best friend. They had met when Eli was ten at an art store and ever since then, they've been extremely close. Corvus was like a little brother to Eli. Corvus was away at some rich boarding school which made sense to Eli, considering that he'd been told that his grandma, who he lives with, is insanely rich. That also males sense, considering that he had never stepped foot inside Number Nineteen Grimmauld Place because Corvus' grandmother was convinced that he'd treck dirt through the pristine apartment, despite Eli's complaints that he would never do that.

Corvus is Eli's rock. He stops him from doing stupid shite and encourages him to do the right things.

Margo also stops him, but Corvus is the main one who can stop him. Eli really appreciates his friends.

Corvus is having a good year,  atleast. It seems that way, way better than his, as he recalls the letters Corvus sent via Post Office to him. About how '–people aren't blaming him for drugs or anything like that that he didn't take part in but people didn't believe him last year or the year before that.-' The only weird thing that Corvus said that happened in his letter was that they got a new Gym teacher and he was always paranoid of people.

Eli wishes Corvus was there to meet Mr. Williams because he would've loved him, seeing as Eli learned that he's a coffee addict such as Corvus is — sometimes, Eli regrets giving him coffee when Corvus was nine.

Corvus' other friends sound nice, and Corvus' new friends sound nice as well. To be honest, Eli wishes he made new friends this year but he still has Ruby, who's in his grade, just a few months older than him.

He doesn't have a job. However, Nat has a job, Margo too. Nat works at Costa Coffee and Eli and Corvus (whenever he's home from boarding school, sometimes Ruby goes too) go to annoy her (much to Nat's secret amusement.)

Something weird about Corvus was that at first, he didn't know basic books. The Chronicles of Narnia is an example and be accidentally got him hooked to the series and things like normal children's books and other things. Corvus didn't even know rubber ducks existed. Could you believe that?

But for now, Eli awaits his best friends return from boarding school and for his brain to think of something to write for his essay.
