"Honey, daddy was in a car crash. We're just going to go to the hospital and make sure he's alright," my Mom said to me very gentle. I nodded and tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. I was confused, and didn't know what was going on. I grabbed Mom's hand and walked into the hospital. I sat in the waiting room. Everything felt so sad. People passed by, people in wheelchairs, people with IV lines attached to them. I was a confused little girl who knew that something was wrong. I felt sad, but didn't quite understand what was happening.
Finally, a lady walked up to us and said, "John died. We tried, but nothing brought him back." the lady smiled a kind smile that I think was supposed to cheer me up. I looked at my Mom and she cried. I was scared so I cried too. We sat in the chairs and cried. Mommy asked if we could see him and we walked into a little white room that looked lonely. I looked at Daddy lying on the hospital bed. I was scared. I was sad. I cried again.
