Chapter 46 - Lovebirds

"Not just him, his whole squad too"

The paper crunches when Eric tightened his fist, he mumbled

"So you mean, also Vien-"

Francis harshly pressed his fingers against his forehead in frustration. He was hesitating to say what they had in mind "Is she part of it too?"

The other one was looking at an agitated Francis, waiting for an answer. Even if he never showed it, Francis was concerned about his friend. Because to their medical team, Vien was considered a younger sister even if she hated it

"When Commander Erwin was taken away an hour ago, the rest of us here have no choice but to stay put and freeze all of our activities. But with Vien part of the Special Ops, she's also being hunted down"

"It sounds bad of me to say this, but I'm glad Aaron's unconscious after that severe concussion" Eric spoke

"What?" Francis blurted, throwing a wilted daisy at Eric's face "How could you say that about a friend?"

The two of them threw the flower repeatedly at each other's face, before Eric finally answered him

"You jackass. I didn't mean happy in a way where he almost cracked his head in two" Eric responded

Francis raised a brow "So, what?"

"If he was to hear that we haven't heard any shit from Vien in the past seven months, who knows what that guy's reaction would be"

What he explained got through the mind in a second, only then did he realized what Eric meant. Letting out a huge sigh, he spoke "Now that you mention it, I'm also glad that he won't hear anything about Vien"

They got startled when the door slowly swung open, but their hearts dropped when someone in crutches, and a huge bandage on his head appeared in front of them

Eric jolted up immediately, and rushed over to the boy in concern. Whilst Francis was about to do the same, he halted in his tracks when the boy had his eyes locked on him

Aaron's voice was weak, "Who wouldn't hear what about Vien?"

---

"We're back we're back we're back baaaack" Vien sang lowly, skipping beside the three cadets when they entered the forest the others hid at

Jean scolded her "Dr. Vien for the hundredth time keep your voice down. Someone else might hear"

When they finally found the area where Levi and the rest stayed in, they lowered their hoods and gave the supplies they recently bought

"They'll be hunting us down by sunset, and they plugged the roads with their men too" Vien sat down beside him, giving him the poster

He read it quietly, and the look after seeing his face on it made Vien blurt out a small chuckle

"Funny, it looks nothing like you. They got your nose shape wrong"

Levi lightly smacked the paper on her face to stop her from laughing

It only made her laugh more, so he put back the hood on her head and tightened it shut. When she was busy trying to untie the straps he tangled, Levi used the little time of silence to reassure the rest of them

"When this brat finally gets serious enough to stop making fun of things, we'll be able to think of a plan before nightfall" Levi stated

When Vien was able to untie it, she glared at Levi before looking away. As much as she hated playing around right now, it was the only thing she was able to do to strengthen her guard. After witnessing Erwin being arrested, she could feel like bursting into tears any moment. Who knows what they'd do to him down there

"I hear footsteps" Sasha muttered

They shot their heads up where Sasha was looking. They perked their hearing senses to figure it out, but Vien already assumed it was the Military Brigade. No one else would be roaming in the forest

"Let's all head towards that river. Armin put the hood on and just do as I say" Vien carried her bag, and began walking closer to the bank

After suggesting an idea, Armin stayed calm as he sat on the river bank. And the rest of them hid low on their areas. Whilst Vien stayed on another tree branch, positioning her sniper just in case they'd fire

A minute later, two military police approached from behind. And aimed their gun "Don't try to move"

Vien closed her one eye, targeting the man who was threatening Armin to turn around. They were certainly unfamiliar to her, but the logo on their capes were that of the brigade. One of them had a weird bowl cut too that almost made her laugh. But unfortunately, she wasn't able to hold it in for long when she actually let out a chuckle
