I yawn and open my eyes, ready for another day on my back. I stretch a little and I suddenly remember the wolf from yesterday. I glance downward at my chest and -- she's gone. I don't blame her. "Alone once more I suppose." I sighed.

I sat there for a few hours thinking of what the wolf could be doing right now. Probably getting eaten by a fellow monster or trying to escape. Then after a while I heard shuffling in one of the bushes. I lift my head to see what it was and I see --

"I-I'm back..." Said a familiar voice. It was the wolf!

"What are you doing back here, little one?" I said in surprise.

"I-I'm sorry that I left you for a bit...I wanted to get you a gift.." She replied, now standing next to me.

I could feel my face go slightly red. "You didn't need to do that," I said. "The only thing you needed to do was stay here and at least tell me your name, snack."

Her face went red with embarrassment. "O-Oh..yea..." She stuttered. "M-My name is Slush."

"I'm Tamatoa," I said. "Now about the thing you were gonna give me?"

"A-Ah yes.." She said, climbing onto my chest. She reached into her huge pouch and pulled out a large, juicy fish along with a piece of jewelry. "I-I though you m-might be hungry..."

I did not reply, but I opened my mouth in a way to show that I wanted to fish. She put the fish in my mouth and I gladly ate it. We had talked to each other for a while until she told me she wanted to go somewhere and do something. "Where are you going?" I asked.

"That's a surprise," She replied, sliding off my chest.

I watched her closely as she scampered away into the bushes. I knew there wasn't gonna be much to do while she was gone, so I decided to take a nap. A while later something disturbed my rest. I heard a rustle in the leaves, so I lifted my head to see what it was. "Little one? That you?" I called over to the bush.

I didn't see her anywhere. I looked up and saw a blue glow on a tall rock a few feet away from the geyser. Ropes suddenly launched at me out of nowhere and snapped painfully tight around my claws. "Hey! Let me go!" I snarled, trying to get my claws free.

The ropes started to try to tug my claws forward and upward. I could feel my upper body lift up a little, and I realized this could be an opportunity to flip over and get back on my feet. I gathered enough strength to make a big push and -- THUD.

I had done it. I was back on my feet! The ropes released my claws as I wobbled back and forth, trying to get a good balance. I saw the ropes sliding away into the bushes, so I decided to follow them. Suddenly the ropes stopped at the bottom of the tall rocks the mysterious blue glow was on.

When I had gotten to the top of the rocks there was no blue glow, but there was what seemed to be a black dog with white patches inside its ears, on its muzzle, and on its tail. Temptations of hunger got the best of me, so I had snatched up the dog and tossed it into my mouth. Just as I was going to swallow, I tasted the disturbingly familiar taste of Shine Fluid in my mouth.

I spat the dog out, trying to get the disgusting flavor out once more. I heard it scamper toward the tip of the rock. I could see that its white patches were no longer white, but were now actually glowing a bright blue. It leaped off of the tall rock and ran away. I remembered about Slush and decided to go search for her.

I looked all around, some monsters greeted me on the way and others just stared at my shell probably wanting to be as beautiful as I was. The only place left to look was my home, so that's exactly where I went. When I got there, I was surprised to see her with the dog. She had been talking with it but she didn't seem happy.

"What is going on here?" I asked, stepping into my home.

"Oh..it's you," The dog muttered once it turned to look at me. "I'm just here to take Slush home."

I froze, my eyes locked onto them. "What?" I asked, still stunned.

"I'm taking her home to her family. She still has lessons to learn," The dog replied.

I stepped closer and looked down at them. The dog did not seem phased, but Slush was very frightened and cowered behind the dog. Without thinking, I snatched the dog with force and threw it hard into a cage of bones.

I then looked at Slush once more and grabbed her. I carried her back to the geyser and sat down. I put her down gently in front of me and stroked her fur trying to calm her down.

"W-We need to g-go back..." She whimpered.

"Why is that, little one?" I asked, continuing to stroke her soft, silky fur.

"B-Because..." She said. "H-He's my brother..."
