From Sunset to Dawn (a Night At The Museum fanfiction)

Chapter Six: Celebration

I woke up at 3 p.m.. I had slept with my clothes on and I was terribly hungry. I got up and went in the kitchen, and I had breakfast and lunch together.
After a while...

-Larry!!!- I exclaimed, I picked the phone and called him

-Hello?-

-Larry! How did it go??- I asked rapidly

-Hey! Calm down! Don't worry, I got fired and rehired in the arc of a few minutes. The museum is all packed up!-

-Thank gods...-

-And I told McPhee that last night you went away early and today you weren't well-

-Thanks Larry-

-You're welcome! Hey, I was thinking, we should celebrate tonight with all the others-

A smile appeared on my face

-That's a great a idea! I'll bring the music and you'll bring the stereo and the amplifieres-

-Ok! See you tonight then!-

-See you!-

I closed the phone call. I smiled even more at thought that I was going to see Ahkmenrah again.

-Is that amplifier secure?-

-Yes! All secure!-

Me, Larry and Nicky had just finished to set the amplifiers around the Hall and connected the cables to the stereo behind the desk. A few minutes before sunset everything was ready and the animals were locked up.
Dawn arrived, and everyone woke up

-Lawrence! Alice! Nick! What a pleasure to see you all here!- said Teddy coming towards us

-The pleasure's all ours!- said Larry -Tonight we wanted to celebrate a little-

-That's a wonderful idea, young man!-

-Hit it Nicky!- I shouted, and Nicky started the music.
In a few minutes the Hall was full. Most of the people was dancing, the Huns and the Vikings started a soccer match with Colombus and Ahkmenrah, Nicky was riding Rexy, who was following his bone attached to the new toy car driven by Jed and Octavius. I was walking around talking to everyone, with Dexter on my shoulders. He gained confidence with me, and I found him very funny and cute, even if he was a troublemaker. Finally, I saw Ahk dancing in a very particular way, and I burst out laughing. He saw me and came to me smiling

-Goodevening, my lady-

-Hi Ahk! I can see that you're having fun!-

-I am indeed, but it will be even better now that you're here-

I blushed

-Dexter, go play with Attila please- I said. Dexter climbed down my shoulders and went away

-Shall we dance?- I asked

-I'm not very good at it...-

-Come on!- I interrupted him, I took his hand and we started dancing to the music. It was the best night ever. I saw Larry at the balcony and waved at him. He smiled and waved back.
After a while I sat on the staircase with Ahk. I laid my head on his shoulder. I felt him froze, but then relaxed and hugged me with his arm. I've never been more happy. I was happy I had chosen to work at that wonderful museum, and I was never going to go away, not for anything in this world.

So, we reached the end of my first adventure. I hope you enjoyed reading it! I was helped by all the others to write this story, helping me remember every detail. But sooo much has happened here at the Museum of Natural History, and I had many adventures with my night friends! I will soon write about them, I can't wait you all to know about them!
