[𝓨—/n] took a deep breath as she soaked in the sight of the empty arcade. As usual, business was bad. Mr. Reo even went out of his way to install the latest models, yet still...no one was here. You felt really bad because you knew he had to use his own money to pay for the improvements.

You sat there gazing at the games in the distance, thinking about nothing in particular, yet your mind was still filled with thoughts about everything. It's not Taiyo's fault he bought that ice cream cone in an attempt to cheer me up. He doesn't know that I'm struggling to keep us afloat.

If only you had some kind of financial help from your parents you wouldn't have been stressing as much, but they kicked you out as soon as they found out you were pregnant. Which was all the way back in the first year of high school. They were always strict, and big on their religious beliefs so it was expected.

Even though you knew it would happen, it still hurt your heart that they would shun you just because of one mistake.

You had to drop out of school because of that. But its okay, you got a job, learned how to pay bills, and decided that keeping the child was the best option for you. Sure her life was hard, but in that time of darkness you just needed something to hold onto, something that would keep you going. That 'something' just happened to be your son. Taiyo.
