Chapter 05 | Fun with her

Start from the beginning

This is so disgusting. - user 3848.

Who is this m***erf***er sleeping with my girl? - Adrian Martello.

Cory didn't even know who the Adrian dude was. He heard the front door slam shut. It opened and then slammed shut again. Someone must have entered after Jordan left. Cory guessed it was Subomi. Cory had ask Subomi to tutor him in calculus after lectures today, and he gracefully accepted.

"Glad you could make it." Cory said.

"Yeah, let's get to it then." Subomi went to his room and got straight down to business. It was nightfall around nine pm when they finally finished the work for the day. He hurriedly put on his shoes and headed for the stairs.

"Thanks a lot dude, I really appreciate it." Cory said.

"You're welcome, just revise what we've done today and you should be acing your test." Subomi went out the door.

Don't think that'll happen but it doesn't matter.

Cory ate some pizza and went straight to bed. Exhaustion was eating its way through his body. Feeding on him like a prey. Fact was that it was making him weak and made him prey to his nightmares. Cory had the strength to fight them before but now he just let them devour him.

He spun up on the bed and tried to stop himself from panting. It was two a.m and he was more than scared to go back to sleep. He couldn't even shut his eyelids.

Cory picked up his phone with the intention of going through Instagram again but he stopped halfway when the page was loading and went to message instead.

Cory texted Joanne, trying to get her to do the work by being sweet to her but she got irritated and pissed off instead. She really was a strange person, any girl he did this with would be begging him to go out with them. But Joanne was being stuck up and uptight, she was no fun.

He tossed his phone back and decided to pull an all nighter, working on the calculus so he could pass the make up test he was having on Saturday which he got a 75% in it. It was pretty simple. Math wasn't so bad.

He went home after that, going home was the worst part of his life. It was like walking into the lion's den. All his dad did was rant about how Cory was supposed to be a better, mini version of him, take over his business, be a man, things he wasn't ready for.

He avoided his father all day and hoped not to see that monstrous face of his, luckily he was at a business trip in Italy, so he didn't have to avoid him at all. Cory, the maids and his father's mistress were the only ones homes.

Monday morning.
"Thanks for the ride Jim." Cory bid him goodbye as he pulled away from the street and on to the road.

It was the day for his and Joanne's project, he really wasn't sure why he was here, it was not like he would be of any help and he was going to make sure of it.

He walked in, expecting to find an outraged Joanne screaming at him for being late, but instead what he saw was rather interesting, she sat there looking like she just got hit by a bus, she was definitely the strangest person he knew.

Joanne.
"Why would you think that?" Joanne dropped her spoon.

"Oh please, you look like you just got hit by a bus."

Cory was right. She would have washed up when she woke up, but she really needed to fill her stomach before doing anything. "You're late," She said crossing her arms. That was the last line of defense she could use.

"Yeah, and I was going to apologize, but if I had come earlier, I have a feeling you wouldn't even be awake by now."

Guilty again, but she wasn't going to let him know that, a shower was all she needed. "Stay here, I'm coming."

She went to the bathroom, brushed, showered and put on a blue shirt and grey sweatpants. She rushed downstairs and met Chloe and Cory, chatting like old friends. She really admired her sister's trait of making friends easily, if only she wasn't so...

"Geez, what happened to wearing something pretty?" He scrunched his nose, Chloe giggled.

"FYI, this is as pretty as I can get by eleven in the morning."

"Thirty, 11:30." He corrected.

Joanne rolled her eyes. "My bad."

Chloe, very fascinated by their exchange of words, decided to be kind to Cory, out of nowhere. "Would you like some food?"

He smiled. "Nah, I already had some at McDonalds."

"Ok then, you guys have fun." Chloe clutched a purple purse and got in a vehicle outside.

"Oh we will." Cory winked at her.
