1 - Introduction

How did I even end up in this situation? You may ask, and honestly that's a hard question to completely answer. But ill try my best.

My name is Bea Grant. My last name may ring a bell to some of you, and what I say next may shock a few. I am Elizabeth Grant's daughter. Yes, THE Elizabeth Grant. As in Lana Del Rey. Its quite a complicated story so let me start from the very beginning shall we.

I havent lived with my mother for almost my whole life. In fact, i was only three when they took me away. Who are "they"? Oh right, the CPS. From age one until i was about three, i had lived with my mother and her then boyfriend in his apartment. Saying that my mother was head over heels for him would be an understatement. She was so blinded by love that she couldnt see the harm that this horrid man was bringing to our broken family.

My birth father? Gone. Fled the scene as soon as he found out my mother was pregnant. You see, my mother accidentally fell pregnant with me when she was only 19. Key word, accidentally.

She was a waitress at a local diner and certainly did not have the money to be supporting a child, but neither did my father. It was just me and my mother for a while until she met him; the man who spent two years with us then I got taken and transported to Australia. Apparently my birth father was from Australia hence why i was sent, something about him wanting me in the same country as him. But for whatever reason, i never went to live with him.

For when i arrived in Australia i was instantly put in the fostercare system. Seeing as Australia ruled out the idea of adoption centres decades ago. fostercare was the next best option, where i was rotated through homes every few months or so because i was "too much to handle" which was basically a shitty way of saying they couldnt be bothered to take care of a primary school aged child.

As for Lana, she dropped the guy and focused on what she loved most, singing. Then in 2011, she moved to LA and started pursuing her dream career professionally.
