Hello everyone!
My name is Nicki for those who don't know and my pronouns are she/her. If you don't know, I'm the author of this book and it's very nice to meet you! I wanted to come here and give you an explanation of what's going on, what's going to happen to TRS (The Red String), and the title change.
Why I left
It's been a while since I updated this story and I'm sorry. When I first started I never wrote a book before. It was super fun at the time but then I became unhappy with the pacing of the story so I decided I wanted to rewrite it. (The pacing was all over the place and it went too quickly and I didn't develop Ryder and Elena's relationship well. I don't know how to write fluff and I didn't think it was needed in a story but it is. It's good to have filler and fluff so readers can have a break and breathe while all the drama is going on. I admit I'm not the greatest at writing fluff and filler but I will always try my best to. I will always try to write my best for this book. That's what you all deserve.) Then I lost all motivation because I was lazy and I didn't want to rewrite it. I suddenly got the motivation to rewrite this story which is why the title has changed to the Prototype.
What's going to happen to this story?
I want to leave this story up until I publish something for the rewritten version of this story. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the same name. I want to keep it because I've had this name for so long but also I don't think the name fits the story at all. I will edit this chapter whenever the rewritten version of this story comes out with the name and link to it. I will keep this story up until the rewritten version comes out. When it does I won't delete this story either, in case someone has this story in their library and doesn't know there's a rewritten version of this story. Also, I want to leave this story up just in case of anything. Then they can come read this chapter and be redirected to the rewritten version. I will unpublish the other chapters in this story and just leave this one up so people know where to be redirected to.
What are you doing now?/What's going on now?
I am currently on the planning stage of TRS and I'm going to do a better job at planning this story rather than having a random google doc of scattered ideas and just shoving them into this book. I didn't think you need to plan anything and I would just write stuff as it goes on but it didn't really work well and you need to plan things out. I'm not sure when I will publish the new story because I still am in the planning stage. I don't have a definite answer and I'm sorry that I don't. I want this story to be better for you all and for myself.
