my mom came home just as we were finishing the third High School Musical.

"Olivia, would you like to stay for dinner?" Mom asks hanging up her coat.

"oh, actually my dad is on his way to pick me up." Olivia says.

"alright well the offer is still there," Mom says walking in the kitchen.

Olivia nods and we scroll through Netflix for something to look at,

the doorbell rings and Olivia gets up, "that's my dad," she says getting her coat.

Mom goes to open the door and practically stops all movement,

"Harry?" she says.

"Christina," i hear her dad say.

"uh, come in," she says.

i stand up next to Olivia who looks just as confused as me, her dad walks inside and Olivia crosses her arms.

"do you guys know each other?" she asks.

"we uhm, used to date," my mother says.

"is he-the summer guy?" i mouth.

my mom nods,

"would you two like to stay for dinner?" my mom asks.

"we wouldn't want to just intrude," he says.

"nonsense! i've made plenty," mom says.

"alright then," he says.

they go into the kitchen and talk, i turn to Livvy.

"are we about to pull a total parent trap?" i whisper.

"totally," she says nodding.

we go into the kitchen and sit down, for most of the dinner our parents are laughing and telling stories of when they used to date.

"it was not my fault," he says.

"it was! he started shouting at us!" she shouts laughing.

"oh what was his name?" he asks. "it started with an F, everyone made fun of him remember?"

"it was, oh! Mr Finkleberg," she says sipping her wine.

"yes!" he says snapping his fingers.

Olivia and i clean up while the two of them continue laughing and talking, we put the dishes in the dishwasher and put the plates in the sink.

"oh, Liv we better get going," he says. "it was great meeting you Charlotte,"

"nice meeting you too," i say.
