Eater of men, slayer of god, and a shapeshifting kidnapper! Handsome dwellers near and far better beware of this dangerous foe of the legendary walker Đam Dông: Quỷ Cái (from the story of warrior Đam Dông)– a she-demon who killed a god for a dating app.

1. Story summary:

_ Dông and Pha were two equally bright brothers who lived in a small village in Tây Nguyên province – central Việt Nam. The village headman framed the two boys for stealing and forced their mother into working for him to pay off their debt. Hatred and hard labor were too much for the woman, and she died shortly after the incident out of exhaustion. With their mother gone, the two now-orphans were expelled and had to lean on each other to get by.

_ One day, when Dông woke up, Pha was nowhere to be seen. An elder, taking pity of the boy's misfortune, told him that his brother might have been taken away by the She-Demon. Now, with his spear readied and his trustworthy elephant companion by his side, Dông set out on a quest to find his brother. Along the road, he met strange people and phenomena alike, such as a lumberjack carrying two heeds of wood as big as a grown elephant with his bare hands, a black statue breathing fire, and a seedling growing into a tree so tall it reached the heaven.

_ So yeah, no damsel in distress here. The only two female characters are the ill-fated mother and the She-Demon.

2. Backstory and motivation:

Have you ever heard about crazy girls who hunt for delicious-looking guys on Tinder? Well, our She-demon was basically the unknown and unrecognized originator of that trend, long before the dawn of Tinder. And to top it off? Back in her days, you can't just open Appstore on your phone to download the app. No! Back then, that kind of apps was trademarked by the gods, and she had to kill one just to get her hands on it.

The unlucky god was named Póc-Gơ-Lây, and the app in question was his magic mirror. There was no mention of other deities chasing after her but considering the Mountain God Chư-Lây didn't dare take her head-on, we can safely assume that she was too big of a threat for the gods to deal with directly.

The mirror has other uses than just Tinder, of course. In fact, most feared its power of mass destructions. But the She-demon mostly used it as a means of surveillance, much like in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves." The limit for this clairvoyance is unknown, but with it, she would scan the land from time to time, searching for young, strong, and handsome men. Once she found a guy suit her taste, she would then kid... or rather, man-nap him back to her cave where the man would serve as her husband for a while. Until she eventually would grow bored of him and want a divorce. Unfortunately for her husbands, though, her definition of a "break-up" was literally breaking them up into pieces and have them for dinner. Give a whole new meaning to "hunting for delicious-looking guys," doesn't it?

So, to sum it up, she killed a god for Tinder, and her reverse harem is also her food for the winter!! Talk about being resourceful!

3. Appearances:

_ Her look was rather generic. Long hair, fangs as big as bananas, and a blazing gaze were all written about her.

4. Abilities:

Super strength: according to the lore, the demoness can rival an army of hundreds of men by her lonesome. This may not sound like much compared to some of the high-level threats we face nowadays, but it's still formidable to warrant caution.

Shapeshifting: she is a seasoned shapeshifter, able to transform into animal, plant, and element alike. According to our notes on her, she had changed into at least three forms, a phantom steed, a strange flower, and a gust of wind. In her steed form, she was so fast that no horses alive could catch up with her without the gods' intervention. She showed an incredibly unique and over-powered trait while shapeshifted: while transformed, her true self was unaffected by whatever happens to her. This means the damage she took while shapeshifted has no effect on her. According to records, while turned into a flower, she was crushed under the hoof of Dông's horse. But right after he left, she immediately turned into a gust of wind and went to retrieve her mirror hidden elsewhere.

The spells of the mirror: if you think the magic mirror is simply an omniscience stalker camera, then you are dreadfully wrong. The magical artifact had four main spells that are highly offensive or supportive, and it's with this mirror that the She-Demon turned into such a formidable threat to the legendary walker Đam Dông. To start off, it can plunge the world into darkness. Secondly, it can flood the forest situated in the highland of Vietnam. It can also create typhoons or turn all clouds in the sky into a rain of fire.

5. Counters and Contingency: She's dead. Killed by one of the greatest plane-wakers of Tây Nguyên. The record has not shown any indication of her reviving, so we should be safe for the time being.
