My Enemy and I

Chapter 25

I thought some more "We should name this little guy Andrew or Andy for short" I said and Isaac nodded

Everyone walked back in and stood there shocked "Ok, I thought you were having one child, where did the other one come from" Eb said and Isaac and I laughed

"We didn't know either, until the doctor told me to keep pushing" I said and they awwed, the nurse walked back in and we told her the names and the girls awwed again. The doctor that delivered the babies came in and said that they are two months premature and will need to be here for awhile until they're reached their full 40 weeks. I was sad that I would have to go home without them but if it's going to help them grow and be under care then that's what I'll have to do. Isaac went out with the boys and the girls and I were looking at the babies. The doctor said I could go home tomorrow, but the babies will stay here so the girls left me to get some sleep and Isaac went with Tj and my dad to buy one more car seat. I was humming a song to Jazzy, then ended up falling asleep myself...

I woke up the next day and dreaded leaving both my babies, but they were too small to be out in the world and I will do anything to protect them. I sat in the wheelchair as a nurse wheeled me to the front of the labor and delivery so I could wait for Isaac to bring the car around. Once he did, he helped me in the car and closed the door behind me. I sighed as he pulled away from the hospital, I felt empty both because I wasn't pregnant anymore and that the back seat of the car was empty. Isaac reached for my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, I looked at him and smiled. I was so grateful to have him and his support as we both go through this new transition.

~Two Months Later~

For two months straight I visited my babies in the hospital in the NICU making sure they were okay and that they were growing. The Doctor said that they had made extrodinary progess in their development as preemies. Today was the offical day that they will be coming home with Isaac and I. To say I was a nervous wreck would be an understatement compared to how Isaac was. He would go into their room and lock the door not letting me or anyone else inside. I tried to peek inside to see what he was doing but he caught me everytime, so I let it go. We finally reached the hospital and I was practically jumping out the car rushing to get inside. The lady at the front desk has quickly learned our names and knew what day it was

"Good Morning Ms. Ali" She greeted in her usual cheerful tone

"Good morning Marg, how's it been?" I said smiling at her

She nodded aprovingly "It's been good, are you ready to have you're babies at home with you"

I couldn't contain the sheer excitement that I felt "I definitely am"

"I'm glad, well the doctor will see you in one of the rooms to bring them"

She gestured to one of the rooms and we walked inside sitting on the hospital bed. One of the nurses came in to let us know that the babies were getting their final check up and will be in shortly

"I can't wait to get them home" I said laying my head on his shoulder

He smiled and rubbed my cheek "I have a surprise for you and the babies"

I looked at him confused "And what is it?"

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you" he said and I pouted.

The nurse brought back the babies and Isaac and I put them in their car seats and signed them out, we walked to the car and got in. Isaac drove to the house and when we got inside there was a banner that said welcome home. He took us upstairs and opened the door to the room across from ours and he opened the door and finally got to see what he was working on for two months, I gasped and stared at the room in awe

"Isaac this is beautiful" I said and he kissed me on my forehead, then Andy started crying. I got him out of the car seat and sat in the rocking chair

"The girls went to go buy some clothes" he said and I smiled. I started humming a song to Andy. He fell asleep and I put him in the crib and got Jazzy out and put her in the crib too

I walked out of the room and downstairs and flopped down on the couch. Isaac came and sat down next to my legs, so I put them on him. He started rubbing my feet and I was slowly falling asleep again until the door bell rung, Isaac got up and answered then the girls came in. I sat up and they all sat down around the room

"We found all the cutest clothes" Tina said

I giggled "Thanks guys" I said and they smiled

"Oh Babe, we're going out to dinner tonight, so wear something pretty" Isaac said walking up the stairs with the boys

After a couple of hours, I got the babies fed them, changed them and let them play with the girls. I had to get ready for whatever Isaac had planned tonight. I got in the shower and when I got out I curled my hair and found something to wear, when I did I put on a pretty dark blue dress that came down to my knees. I finished and walked downstairs, when the girls saw me they awwed

"Well don't you look pretty" Eb said and I blushed

"Thanks" I said, then picked up Jazzy who was smiling at me.

"Do you think mommy looks pretty?" I asked which made her giggle "I love you" I told her then kissed her on the nose

"Well don't love her too much you have two of them" Jenni said

I laughed "I could never do that"

We all laughed, then Isaac came down in a suit "Ok, whats the occasion, did I forget Valentine's day again because its the middle of the summer" I said and he shook his head chuckling

"No, I just wanna take you out" he said

I handed Jazzy to Tina and we said goodbye, then we walked to the car. I got in and he drove down the coast, then after 20 minutes, he stopped at a Italian restaurant. Which is my favorite type of food ever. We walked inside and got a table outside, where it was nice and warm. We sat and ate, but Isaac was acting weird. He would fidget in his chair and look in his lap every ten seconds "Babe are you ok, you're so fidgety" I asked

"Umm, it's nothing, you ready to go" he asked

I nodded and he paid. we got back in the car and he drove somewhere else. Once we got there we were by the beach, we got out and I took my flats off and we walked on the beach hand in hand. He stopped walking and I turned around to see why "Why'd you stop" I asked

"I have something to tell you" he said and I looked at him weird, then he got in one knee and my mouth dropped "Ali, I know how much you hated me before and now I can't get enough of you. I love you so much. You changed me for the better, we have two beautiful children together, I couldn't ask for anything more, so what I'm trying to say is will you marry me" he said and I nodded like crazy

He put the ring on me and kissed me, we walked a little more then decided to go home. Once we got home and walked inside everyone was sleep on the floor, except the babies, they were sleep on the couch with Tina and Hunter. I picked up Andy and Isaac got Jazzy, then we put them down in their beds. I walked to our room and put my pajamas, then climbed into bed, then I fell asleep in my fiances arms. I love my life and my enemy.
