The lights dimmed and the curtains opened. I felt like I was going to throw up. Why had I ever thought this was a good idea?

Five hours before the party

The party was hours away, it was the party of the year. It was Stephen and Nicholas’s party.
“ Wake up Jade, it’s time to go to school. Today is Friday so you have to get up, you only have six hours of school.” My mom said yelling up the stairs.
“ Yeah well it’s gonna be the worst six hours of my life, ma.” I said yelling back down the stairs and putting my face back in my pillow
“ If you don’t go to school you are not going to the party.” My mom said yelling up the stairs.
That whole sentence made me get out of the bed. I took my shower and got dressed so I could walk out the house, go to school for six hours then go to Stephen and Nicholas’s party.

“ Bye mom” I said heading out the door carrying my books in one hand.
“ Bye, sweetie see you later.” My mom said locking the door behind her.
As I walked to school I heard footsteps coming behind me, my anxiety levels had risen and I wanted to run, but when I saw the shadow of who it was behind me, I calmed myself down and went to let her slide through so she could be next to me.
“ Hey girl!!!” Jocelyn said jumping on my shoulder.
“ Hey Jocelyn.” I said.
We walked all the way to school, as we got into the school I saw Stephen and Nicholas hanging out with our other two friends Arlean and Kasha. Jocelyn and I went over there to go see what they were talking about, as we went Arlean and Kasha saw us and told Stephen and Nicholas that we were coming.
“ Hey what’s going on?” I said as my heart stopped at the sight of Stephan's eye looking at mine.
“ Oh, um we were just talking about our party tonight.” Nicholas said as he gave us the invitations.
“ Thank you Stephen and Nicholas for inviting us to the party.” Arlean said flirting with Stephen, as she was walking to her classroom swaying her hips.
“ Gosh, I bet that was awkward for you.” Jocelyn said as we were walking up the stairs to our homeroom.
“ Pshhhhhhh… So what are you wearing for the party?” I said changing the subject.
“ ……. Bitch don’t change the subject.” Jocelyn said.
“ Fine I kinda like Stephen.” I said being all shy.
“ Duhh that’s why I said that it was awkward for you.” Jocelyn said heading into her room.

School was over and it was time to go home and get ready for the party. I ran upstairs to my room, wondering what I should put on. Finally “ bam “ hit me, I was wearing a crop top with the words “ House Party” on it, jeans that were all black. My hair was in a cute and messy half ponytail ( like Ariana Grande hairstyle), my shoes were black boots with shoelaces and an inch of a heel.
“ Jade, your friends are here.” My mom said yelling up the stairs.
“ Okay mom I’m on my way down.” I said running down the stairs trying not to slip, fall, or break an ankle.
“ Ayeeee, gurl you ready.” Kasha said looking at me up and down like I was the prettiest thing in the world.
“ You know it.” I said, giving her a bro handshake.

“ Are you lovely ladies ready?” My mom said grabbing her keys.
“ Yes mom we’re ready.” I laughed talking at Kasha’s cute and funny joke about how I look like Kylie Jenner.
We went to my mom’s car, I sat in the front seat obviously. As we were driving I was looking out the window into the woods. I saw a person, well a lady wearing a white wedding dress with her hair covering her face. I really didn’t care because I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Finally we made it to Stephen and Nicholas’s party.
“ Yasssss we here.” Arleen said, jumping out of the car while my mom was still driving.
“ Hold on there sweetie let me stop first.” My mom said trying to stop her,
“ Oh okay sorry.” Arleen said as we all laughed at her embarrassment.

Stephen and Nicholas’s party was lit as hell, you had party lights lighting up the whole block, people were getting drunk, they were jumping off of the roof and into the pool, they were doing truth or dare and everything.
“ Ayeee Jade!” Stephen said to me with his drunken breath.
“ Um… what’s up.” I said trying to face the smell of the alcohol in his mouth.
“ You want a sip?” Stephen said, putting his cup close to my nose.
“ Not now…. I have to go say bye to my mom.” I said walking away.
“ Okay.” Stephen said walking away and drinking his alcohol.
I walked to my mother’s car, in the distance I saw the lady with the white wedding dress again. I blinked my eyes and she was still there. I stood there staring at her wondering if she was staring at me, staring at her and seeming to go on for hours until someone stopped me.

“ Hey…. what are you looking at?” Justin said tapping my shoulder.
“ Nothing, I was just going to say bye to my mom.” I said looking for my mom’s car.
“ Your mom left minutes ago.” Justin said looking at me like I was a crazy person.
“ Oh, oh okay I think I’ll head in the house.” I said walking into the house.
I went into the house into the kitchen, grabbed a cup and poured the whole bottle of whiskey in the cup so I could drink away the memory of the lady in the white dress. The first cup didn’t work, my tenth cup worked very well and I even forgot my name.
“ Hey guys who want to play truth or dare?” Justin said, trying to get everyone’s attention.
Everyone sat in the center of the room in a circle, no one could decide who should go first so there was an awkward silence for five minutes

“ Fine I’ll go.” Some random girl named Alicia said.
“ Jose, truth or dare?” Alicia said with a smirk like she was waiting for him to say dare.
“ Um…… truth.” Jose said smiling.
“ Damn it, but okay, is it true that you like Kasha?” Alicia said as everyone looked at Kasha.
“ Um….. I guess.” Jose said rubbing his hand behind his head in embarrassment.
Everyone looked at Kasha and made kissy faces at her and Jose.
“ Okay Jade, truth or dare.” Some girl Sienna said.
“ Dare.” Sienna said with a smirk.
