"Hi, I'm y/n. What's your name?"

"U-um san lang"

Xie lian reached over and whispered

"You've just met my cousin and you've already fallen head over heels for her. Good luck, she has many suitors but has been all rejected"

San lang looked at xie lian with a surprised face and a blush from the previous teasing.

"Well, nice to meet you"

"Y/n, he'll be staying with us for a while, if you're fine with it" xie lian piped in

"Of course, come in, i finished supper. San lang, if you don't mind, you'll be sleeping with xie lian on that bed"

"It's completely fine, don't worry about me" he smiled

I slightly blushed at his kind-hearted smile

"Well, rest early" i say to xie lian and san lang

The next day

I woke up and freshened before going to the small kitchen to prepare breakfast when i heard xie lian walked in yawning.

"Good morning, where's san lang?

"He's outside sweeping. Speaking of him, don't you think he's strange?" Xie lian said

"If you think he's strange, then test him."

"I have, but nothing unusual has happened"

"Being strange doesn't mean dangerous, don't bother him"

"Oho, you just met him last night and you're already defying your cousin" xie lian faked cried and whined.

I ignored him and went outside to call san lang for breakfast

"San lang, come inside to eat breakfast"

San lang skipped over and smiled

"Thank you, mei mei"

A/n: mei mei means little sister in chinese. I changed the plot so hua cheng is older than y/n

I blushed and nodded

"You're welcome"

At this time, some of the villagers barged out carrying a unconscious old man.

I rushed over

"What happened?"

"I don't know! He came into the village asking for help before he collapsed."

"San lang, help me bring the man into the temple"

San lang and I brought the old man into the temple and laid him on the hay mat.

"Xie ge, do you have medicine to treat him?"

Xie lian handed me the medicine and i dabbed it on the injury.

But, something wasn't right.

Suddenly, the man woke up coughing.

"What happened? Are you alright?"

He then told us he was from crescent's pass and about all the terrible things that has happened.

San lang comes up to him and offers the man water.

But the man denied and said that he wasn't thirsty.

San lang, xie lian and i looked at each other and nodded.

The man runs towards the door but san lang's reflexes were fast and launched a chopstick at him, leaving a puddle of mud on the floor.

"He was a puppet. But why would he tell us this? What is crescent's pass and what happened? Xie lian said

"Let's ask ling wen"

"I tried to persuade her but she said to stay out of it as it is dangerous"

At this time, there was knocks at the door.

Xie lian opened the door and turns out, nan feng and fu yao were standing there.

"Greetings to your highnesses, nan yang and xuan zhen sent us to protect you if you might travel to places with danger."

"Who are they?" San lang asked

The juniors looked inside upon hearing the unfamiliar voice.

"Who are you and why are you living with the highnesses?" The juniors asked and tried to restrain him when i stepped in front of san lang.

"He is a friend of mine, do not worry. We'll leave now to go to crescent's pass. Does anyone have a teleportation spell?"

"I do, royal princess"

"Then let's go"
