Flying Together

Chapter 16

I creep around Gotham like I don't want to make a sound, hiding in the shadows not taking down anyone tonight. I'm looking for batman wanting his help but I don't want to find him at late same time, I'm crouched behind a big dumpster behind a restaurant watching a group of people that just had dinner leave.

"What are you doing?" I turn around to find Robin and red robin standing there looking down at me, I stand up and face them "uh nothing" I say and brush my self off "well whatever nothing is you look a little lost" Robin says I feel embarrassed now "actually I'm looking for batman I need his help" I tell them they both look at me then look at each other with confused faces "why? He hates you" says red robin and rubs the back of his head, his cape starts to blow in the steady wind "I need his help getting rid of this new drug that penguin and joker are working together to make an army to destroy Gotham and thought he might be interested" I say and sit on top of the dumpster.

They both look shocked "uh yeah he would probably like to know that, well we'll pass on the message" Robin says and they both walk off, "Thank you" I call out at them as they walk off.
I turn around to see cougar waiting for me leaning against the wall, car lights shinning off her suit "well fancy seeing you" she says in her accent "not a first" I reply and walk closer to her "you up for a bit of action?" She asks me, I feel a rush in me "depends" I say and lean on the other wall across the alley way, it's getting late into the night people are going home after eating a meal together.

"I need someone to have my back, going to take down a guy who's been taking people off the street he's got some big guys that I need you to take out with me" she explains "yeah I guess I could handle that" I joke she chuckles "wouldn't want you mistress getting your hands too dirty" she jokes back, she starts to walk off and I follow her "oh please I get my hands dirty plenty" I say back to her as we start heading to the location.

We crouch behind an old building that's been done up a few guards are out the front having a cigarette "you take out them and I'll go find an entrance" cougar whispers to me, there's only about three guys there and they out have any weapons that I can see "ok" I reply and we rush out in plain sight, I throw some ninja stars at them cutting them and letting them know we're here, I take them out quickly trying not to make too much noise, it's dark no street lights are around and the place is deserted.

"Psss" I look around the corner, cougar has found a hole in the wall big enough to fit us through. We climb through the hole and into the house, it's dimmed and plain. The floor is all wooden with a table and some chairs in the back is a few tools covered in blood, there's stains on the floor and a chair that has chains around it.

We walk around and find nothing, a car pulls up out the front and voices are Filling the air "we'll jump them" cougar whispers and we hide behind a small petition "when I say" she says and we stay quiet and wait for the right time. They come in the door lucky I hid the other guys they walk in and call their names "now" cougar says and we jump out from behind the petition. I take down the first guy with a hit on the back knocking him out and dodging the next guy with his swing, swinging back around knocking him over on his back and punching his side knocking the wind out of him.

By the time I finish that cougar already has the boss guy tied up in the chair and demanding him to release the people he's taken, his head is hanging down and blood is trickling down his shirt "in the shed you'll see a door on the floor that's where they are" he spits out cougar looks at me I nod and go out side to the shed. I open the door and a gust of stale air comes flowing out its dark and cold in here with dirt everywhere. I walk in and the shed creeks under my movement, I see a rug on the floor and lift it up dust going everywhere. There's a small door with latches locking it I hit the latches a few times breaking them and opening it up "anyone in here" I call down the hole a few coughs and yells raise up and soon so do people they all climb up out of the hole "thank you" they all say as I help them up and out. Once they are all up we go back into the house, cougar looks up "let's get these people to a hospital" she says I nod she leads them out, as I'm walking fresh blood is all over the floor I look behind the petition and see the boss guy laying dead a hot of pain and sorry hits me thinking that he didn't deserve to die or maybe he did by the looks of these people.

Cougar and I take the people to the hospital and leave being thanked by all o them and the doctors, a little boy held my hand the whole way there his crooked small smile reminded me of Robin, rage filled me as I thought what that man did to this boy and what I would of done to the man of it was Robin. Some people in Gotham really deserve to die by the things they do, we are walking back to where the main crime is "thank you for your help" cougar says as we walk through the cool air night "glad to have helped" I reply and we keep walking "no really means a lot good to know your still a good person, glad you turned out the way you did after everything that's happened to you" she says, what I'm shocked does she know who I am?
"What? How do you know I've been through a lot?" I ask her we stop in the middle of a street lighten street "I know because it's not easy loosing a mother and not knowing why she left" cougar says. She's really creeping me out "what how do you know that?" I ask her firmly "sam..." She says and puts her hand on my shoulder, she lifts her other hand to her mask and takes it off "sam it's me I've come back for you" says my mother, she's looking right at me doesn't look any different from when I last saw her.

I can't comprehend that it's really her, I snake her hand away from me and start running in the other direction. It's not her it can't be her she left she's gone it's not her....it's not her. I tell my self over and over again as I keep running off into the night.

Sorry this chapter took a little while to get out, I've been busy so I'm so sorry. Hope you all like this chapter through :)
