She stared at herself in the mirror; she was a horrid sight. Her ruffled hair draping down her shoulders, covering her face, in mercy. Lucy couldn't do it- she couldn't see her face again. Taking a deep breath, she clenched her ice-cold fists, and looked away from the mirror. Reluctantly, she clutched the door handle and twisted it, only to see her mom crying. "You can't help her! She has to live through it! No, don't ask to stay. You can't! You can't! You can't!" Lucy's mom screamed. Just like many times before, Lucy ran to her mom and grabbed her shoulders gently, giving her comfort,

"Mom, its fine.... Your heaven is here," she whispered. Her mom smiled a little, "Yes, my heaven is always here." After a few minutes, she screamed again, saying the same words as before.

"Mom, its fine... Your heaven is here," Lucy whispered again. Her mom smiled a little, "Yes, my heaven is always here." When Lucy's mom fell asleep, Lucy breathed a sigh of relief and stared at the letter on the table; she picked it up and read through its contents. Every day the hospital would send her a letter about her mom's illness: trauma, which resulted in giving her short-term memory. Every once in a while her mom would have snippets of her memory back, making her scream; Lucy always wondered what happened to her, she was too young to witness it. Now, with Parents Evening coming up, she feared was terrified for the day in which she had to keep up with more bullying. She glanced at the calendar to check the day. Oh God, she breathed, it's today.
