Cabin

I woke up with no name and no recollection of myself. My head was pounding and my eyes were weak. I was in a daze, not really sure what to think. It's funny that the first question wasn't who am I or where am I, it was why is this bed so hard. After fully waking up that's when I started to freak out. My eyes shot open and I hopped out of the bed. I was in a small room. The walls were made out of wood. Looking around there was a single rocking chair. Kinda like the one you see in scary movies. Also that small ass bed, and a small dresser. I looked at my hands and they were either pale or I was just light. Looking at my hands made me realize I didn't even know what I looked like. I didn't have on any shoes or socks. I had on some baggy jogging pants and a big baggy white T-shirt with no bra. There was a single door and every part of me didn't want to open it, but of course I did.

There was a small hallway that I started walking through. The walls were made of wood as well. It looked like a cabin. But it was really dark so I couldn't be sure. There were two rooms across from each other. I opened the door to my left. I really didn't know what to expect. It was a bathroom with a mirror over the sink. I took a deep breath and took my first step to discovering who I was. When I looked in the mirror the first thing I noticed was that I wasn't white like my hands. I had brown skin but I looked sick and pale. I had few brown freckles under my eyes, around my cheeks. Then I noticed my eyes. So deep and dark. I also noticed my lips. They were full and pink but had a huge cut on them and they were extremely dry. Trying to lick them hurt so I let it be. I turned the sink nob and cold water slowly came out. I rinsed my face and cupped my hands under the water to drink. After I left I stared at the door to my right. When I reached for the knob the door flew open scaring the life out of me. I couldn't even scream I was frozen in terror. This tall shadow stood over me looking just as shocked as me. So naturally I started to panic and went into attack mode. Not aiming anywhere in particular, just swinging as fast as I could. I lost control of my breathing and couldn't catch my breath. I was basically choking on air. "Calm down its ok!" His voice sent chills through my body. It was very deep and masculine. It had a sense of authority that made me feel sick and scared. That only intensified my struggle for air. He grabbed my shoulder trying to calm me down. After he saw it wasn't working he sat me on the floor with my back leaning against the wall. Then he kneeled before me. "Follow my breathing, nice and steady." I desperately tried to follow his breathing pattern. In through my nose out through my mouth. I kept my eyes closed as I was afraid to look at him. Finally my breathing was somewhat back to normal.

"What's your name?" He caught me off guard. "I....I don't know." My voice was shaky. I was surprised at how sweet and innocent my voice sounded. His eyes widened. It was like he'd seen a ghost. "Are these my clothes?" I asked him waking him from his daze. "No. Their mines. Do you remember what happened?" He could tell by my face that I didn't know what he was talking about. " This morning you were banging on my door. When I opened it you fell right into my arms covered in blood. Your head was bleeding and lip busted. I tried to wake you but I couldn't. I grabbed some clean clothes and put them on you. Your back is bruised as well." At that moment tears started to fall down my face. I didn't blink or even make a sound. The tears just came. " He stood up and reached out his hand in order to help me up. He guided me down the hallway into the main room. It had a huge fireplace and a couch facing towards it. He sat down and nodded telling me to sit besides him. "What's your name?" I asked. I don't know why I asked. I didn't even care at the time. "I'm Noah. Noah Preston. Everyone calls me Kay. That's my middle name... But you can call me whatever." I just simply nodded. Not that I didn't care but I didn't. "Did you call some one?" I asked hoping he did and wasn't a psycho trying to keep me here. He looked down and his eyes softened. "I tried but the phone lines are down and there is no signal around here. It's a bad storm and we're snowed in. All the roads are closed." I got up and looked out the window to see mountains of snow. So much disappointment already. "Are you hungry?" I just simply shook my head no. I sat back down on the couch trying to figure everything out. "Well I'm going to make something anyways and if you get hungry it will be here for you."

He smiled and walked into the kitchen. It was an open wall type thing so I could see his every move in the kitchen. I started to examine his face. He was white with medium length dark brown hair. It was very curly. His eyes were a dark blue but it was very hard to tell from a distance. His lips were full and bright pink. He had a strong face and strong chin but his eyes made him look soft. He had strong shoulders and you could see his abs through his shirt. He wasn't cocky but just right. He saw me staring at him and gave me a warm smile. I immediately turned away. I think I was blushing. I don't know. I felt awkward so I just decided to get up to walk to the kitchen. When I stood up a sharp pain pierced my lower back. I froze and couldn't and didn't want to move. "Are you okay?" When I heard his voice I turned in his direction. Me moving was the worst decision. The pain became unbearable and I got dizzy. My fall to the floor felt more dramatic than need be. Noah ran to me and pulled me into his arms. "Are you okay? Can you hear me?!?" Feeling my eyes kept rolling to the back of my head. I could hear him I just couldn't respond. I kept blacking out for a second but I never fully passed out. What was happening to me? Tears came out my eyes and when Noah saw them he stopped yelling. He picked me up and carried me to his room. He laid me in his bed and pulled the covers over me. And again my first initial thought was his bed was so much better than the one I woke up in. I was way to exhausted to really think anything more than that. He looked at me like he was hurt. Like he felt my pain. As he walked out he stopped at the door. "Don't worry I'll take care of you. When the snow melts I'll take you to the hospital and help you figure out who you are. I promise" He shut the door and I cried myself to sleep.
