Epiphany. [Guren Ichinose x Reader] ➥ Book 2. [Semi-hiatus]

Epiphany ~ Chapter 39.

His eyes narrowed, "Release him." He ordered his soldiers and they untied Guren,

He untied the gag and looked behind him, he knew Adora was there and found Kai next to her but was particularly surprised to find Naomi there; he saved the questions for later as he stumbled over to the unconscious Y/N,

"Y/N, can you hear me?" He kneeled next to her, checking to see if she was breathing or conscious, Adora kneeled next to him,

"She's barely breathing," he stated as the paramedics came in,

Kureto laughed, "That was quick, was this somehow orchestrated? It's quite tacky but surprising nevertheless."

"Ignore him, we need to take her back to the hospital." Adora addressed the paramedics,

"There's a hospital 5 minutes away from here for soldiers." Kureto crossed his arms,

"Y/N is my patient, not a soldier. We'll be taking her to my hospital, but thank you for your concern." Adora said, leaving out the fact that she also worked at a military hospital, "Guren let's go."

"I can't go yet. You guys leave without me" Adora looked to find curse marks slowly spreading to his face and sighed before Guren did something that would make things harder for all of them,

"Lieutenant Colonel Ichinose, we are leaving now whether you like it or not. Do what you must but not now, Y/N needs you right now." She grabbed his collar and dragged him along, "As I said, the civilian really had nothing to do with it, I just thought you'd behave a bit better if they were present to see what the JIDA was really like, feel free to court martial me, Guren and Kai." She looked back to address Kureto briefly before following the paramedics who had left with Guren in tow,

That was quite frankly a lie, Adora knew that Kureto would still behave however he wished to do so with or without an innocent bystander, however she had to cover up for Naomi who had helped her knock out the soldiers guarding the office at the time, she would be treated very differently to the other 3 as she was not in the military; and knowing Naomi and how she is quite anonymous to people who she doesn't trust they would most likely be unable to find her; Adora also thought that it'd be better for everyone if she remained out of that mix.

"Oi-" Kai objected, "Adora, who said I was open to having a court martial?" Kai hissed as they left the office, leaving Kureto and his men rather bewildered particularly by Adora's lack of fear,

"You won't get a court martial Kai, even if you did it won't be as serious as mine or Guren's."

"Let me go, Adora." Guren demanded,

"I don't know...will you run away to kill Kureto if I do?" She looked at him with suspicion,

"No, I wasn't thinking rationally, Y/N's going to have the baby, right?"

Adora let go of him and nodded, "We have to check if the baby is okay, tell me how badly was she beat up?"

"Very." He sighed,

"Then it's very likely she will."

"Is the baby okay?" Naomi asked,

"I hope so." Adora muttered, "Guren are you going to come with?"

"No, I'll meet you at the hospital, I'd rather not get in the way. Just let me know how she's doing."

Adora nodded and joined her crew at the ambulance,

"We should go too," Kai said, Guren and Naomi agreed hurrying to the car,

Guren was very absent minded, he couldn't help but worry about whether Y/N and the baby would be okay but he was quickly pulled out of his almost trance-like state when he opened the door to find Yuna and Ira,

"You two are also here?" He looked at them in surprise, "Why the hell would you be here?"

"I could ask you the same question, what kind of mission happens within the military base?" Ira shot back,

He sighed, "Got me there." He situated himself at the back,

"Ira, I had shotgun why did you move?" Naomi yelled,

"Because Naomi, now Yuna and I have to explain why we're here and the further away I am from Master Guren the better chance of survival I have."

Naomi sighed and got in the car next to Kai and Guren, "He won't kill you." She rolled her eyes as Yuna started up the car,

"Why are you speaking as if I'm not here? Whether I'll kill her or not is my decision, and the car isn't big enough for you to have a better chance of survival." He raised an eyebrow, "Anyway can you guys just explain why you're here, including you Naomi."

"I'm just going to explain the whole thing because you do not need to explain yourselves, Guren won't react as badly as you think Ira." She reassured,

"Well after meeting Yuna, Y/N went to her appointment, although Yuna suspected something was wrong and went to the clinic where she met Adora." She began to summarise it in the best way she could, "I came to pick up Y/N and met those two, where we ultimately came to the conclusion that Kureto was most likely behind it, so we dropped off Nico and came here in hopes of finding her."

"Adora is the only one who knows Kureto so how did you all come to a collective decision that he was behind it?"

"Kureto met with Yuna and coerced her into having Nico write a letter for the meet-up."

"I see." He ran a hand through his hair, "Did he threaten Nico in anyway, Yuna?"

"No, Nico was and still is oblivious to the whole thing, the woman with Kureto Hiragi helped him write the letter while he started threatening me with taking him away and stuff like that."

"Aoi." He shook his head, "Anyway continue,"

"He then met with Ira to have the letter delivered, he didn't threaten her but she made the mistake of not thinking too much of it, since the two might know each other."

"Is that it?" He asked,

"Pretty much."

"Ira." Guren turned to her making her jump,

"Y-yes?"

He leaned over and placed a hand on her head, "I'm not mad at you, at least now you know there are bad people after me and Y/N so ask us next time." He ruffled her hair,

"You're not mad?" She asked cautiously,

"Why would I be? You didn't know and if you questioned him it could've gotten nasty."

She nodded,

"But now that poses several issues." Guren said, "How did Kureto know that Ira knew and was in contact with Y/N for him to approach her?"

Everyone was silent,

"He either knows where we live or he's seen you and Y/N together. Hopefully the latter."

"It's most likely the latter, considering how this guy is a stalker, I've gone out with Y/N quite often and he probably has seen that." Ira stated.

"But how do we know that he didn't follow you guys back?" Guren leaned back, taking a deep breathe out. He had no idea how all this was going to play out and if he would be able to cope with it.

"Not going to lie that still doesn't explain why Naomi is here." Kai inputted, making Yuna laugh,

Naomi rolled her eyes, "As the unofficial official commander of 'Operation Save Y/N' or 'OP(First initial)' for short it was only right I came-!" She began,

"Wouldn't the commander be Adora?" Kai gave her a look,

"Don't undermine my authority, you mere pawn." She huffed, "Besides it ended up working out at the end, Kureto would've recognised Ira and Yuna if they came and you guys got an extra helping hand didn't you?"

"Adora and I would've been just fine by ourselves actually."

"Yeah, whatever." Naomi crossed her arms, making the others laugh.
