"Don't think just because you got a little stronger that I can't still kick your ass" he turned away from his friend, still gasping for air as he and everyone else (save Koro-sensei) walked out of the room but not before looking over his shoulder staring as the blunette struggled to stand, "come talk to us when you stop being a prick" was his only words as he slammed the door shut. Nagisa continued to stare at the door for a few moments before he slumped against the wall, falling unconscious

Nagisa awoke back in the hospital bed, although this time he was alone and he felt pain shot threw him when he tried to sit up again. See nothing better he thought back to earlier events

"come talk to us when you stop being a prick" the voice made Nagisa mad. Why? Because he acted like he understood what he was going through, like he had any right to meddle with his life

"Don't act like you know me" he spat out, wincing when he felt the wind brush against his skin

"Despite what you think he actually cares a lot. Although I do agree his methods are on the harsher side" he looked over to see his smiling teacher with a small bag in hand, "I thought you'd be hungry" he awnsered his students silent question. Setting the bag down on the night stand next to the bed before helping Nagisa sit up so he could eat comfortably

Mumbling a "thank you" he took the bag off the nightstand and grabbed his food, eating in awkward silence for the duration of the meal.

Soon after finishing his food Koro-sensei turned towards him, "Nagisa, are you okay?" His asked, voice devoid of its usual humor

"I'm alright. Besides the fact I got thrown into a wall I'm doing good" he tried to smile to reassure his sensei but it only looked like he was in pain

Koro-sensei shook his head slightly, "I didn't mean here" He placed a tentacle on his chest before raising it to rest on the boys forehead, "I met here" He asked softly, leaving the tentacle on his head for a moment for Nagisa to process the question

"I-" Nagisa couldn't speak, what could he say to his teacher for him to understand. Koro-sensei is always able to break people down to there roots and see who they really are, but he didn't want anyone to know who he was

"If you don't want to talk about it we can hold off on it. although I do have to reprimand you Nagisa" He looked up at his teacher quizzically, wondering why everyone was so mad at him, "while I commend you for saving Kayano and that goes to show how well you've improved I can't, as a teacher condone you throwing your life away so casually" his tone was soft and his face wasn't anything but the usual yellow but the words he spoke still set him off

"What was I supposed to do?! Kayano would have DIED if I didn't get there in time" He lashed out at his teacher, having his hand stopped before it could make contact. Nagisa couldn't take it anymore, "I talk a big game but I couldn't do anything when it counted. I wasn't there when everyone needed me and Kayano almost got hurt for my selfishness"

"Now that's not tru-"

"IT IS!" He shouted grabbing at his pigtails, "If I actually cared to face my own damn problems instead of running away I would have been there. No one would of gotten hurt, everything would be okay" Nagisa gasped for air, trying to keep himself together but even the reassuring tentacle on his back didn't help his deteriorating mind, so despite having no air in his lungs he laughed. It wasn't his normal cheerful laugh that he reserved for class 3-E but a hollow depressed laugh met only for himself.

After his laughter ceased he looked up at the ceiling, almost as if he could see through it to the night sky above, "I know I was never liked" Koro-sensei stared at his student, confused at his rapid change in demeanor, "no matter where I went everyone around me looked at me like a monster, an animal in a cage. Starving for any scraps that was left behind. When I met Karma I knew he was the same as the others, but he still hung out with me" He gave a light hearted laugh, "we had so much fun. We played games together, went to the movies, ate after school, it was great" the smile on his face dropped, "but then he started to avoid me. I knew he wanted to hurt me since the day we met. Wanted to bring whatever scared him out of its cage and destroy it" despite his words he couldn't laugh at the irony, "Isn't it funny Koro-sensei? The person I considered my best friend abandoned me because he wanted to beat me up. It's hilarious isn't it" His overly cheerful face changed to one of disgust as he clenched his fist, "and even after all of that he things he had the right to say I was being a prick, SCREW HIM!" Needing something to vent he stood on top of the bed before throwing his pillow into the wall, "what right does he have to decide what I do. HE was the one who abandoned ME so why should I give him a say in the matter, he should just-"

Filling something being pressed against his neck Nagisa looked down to see his teachers tentacle against his neck. While Koro-sensei's face hadn't changed, his smile seemed softer. Not like his goofy, obnoxious smile or his caring yet encouraging smile. This smile had no second category, nothing that put them under labels such as teacher and student, master and apprentice. They were equals, they were assassins. And despite everything Nagisa was feeling, he knew that his sensei had also experienced similar events during his time as The Reaper.

Sitting back in his bed Koro-sensei finally spoke, "In this moment I won't be giving you any advice as a teacher. To put it bluntly I hadn't accounted for the possibility that someone could have gone through something like that here, I was careless and you have suffered from it. Which is why I won't being giving these words as your teacher, but as an assassin" Nagisa looked intently at his teacher as he collected himself

"Adapt" Nagisa looked at his teacher in confusion but before he could question him he continued, "we as assassins must be prepared for any situation and sometimes those situations leave us with conflicting emotions. Whether it be sympathy for the target or anger at the death of someone close, it all comes down to the same thing. Are ability to adapt. If you find yourself lost in the dark, find a light. You find yourself unable to move, finish it there. If someone stands in your way, Deal with them. Being an assassin isn't about a fancy title or the number of skills you possess, in the end it all comes down to your ability to find a alternative ending and you Nagisa have a endless amount of options available. Think them over carefully" Koro-sensei stood from his seat and walked towards the open window. Before he made his exit he looked towards his student, who was busy trying to rap his head around what he said, "And Nagisa" The blunette looked up at His teacher, "you did the right thing" he awnsered simply, giving his student one last affectionate smile before he disappeared into the night sky, leaving his student to ponder his thoughts.

As Nagisa stared off into the night sky he looked out over to the rest of his home before setting his eyes on the mountain he came to enjoy spending his days on. Seeing all of the good memories flash through his mind Nagisa Stealed his resolve and began to work out a plan of attack for when he returned to school. After mulling it over he laided down in his bed ready to inact his plan. While it did have quite a few holes in it, Nagisa was content with that.

After all, an assassins best tool is the ability to adapt.
