But this man beside me shouts dominance and anger. A complete opposite of Jed. He is asserting his right to the point of making someone feel inferior and I hated how he manages to act out in front of everyone.

" That wasn't right" I verbalized as I looked directly on his eyes.

" You are pregnant with my child, Ivana. You think I care?" Malamig niyang wika sa akin. I hated the fact that he's using that thing on me.

Just damn it! Kailangan ko pa bang ingudngod sa pagmumukha niyang hindi ako buntis. I already took the pregnancy test three times this morning. Lahat ay negative.

" And you think that made sense at all?" Akusa ko parin.

Habang tumatakbo papuntang ward ay tinawagan ko ang isa sa mga kasamahan kong doktor na alam kong pauwi na rin dahil patapos na ang shift. Pinasuyo ko na si Jed. Buti nalang at sinagot niya agad iyon kaya naging mabilis lang ang pagtawag ko. Luigi heard it all. Nakita ko ang inis sa mukha niya.

Naabutan ko iyung nurse na nagCCPR na. Another nurse was at the bedside preparing the intubation set.

" First epi given doc" The bedside nurse told me. Sinabi niya din kung anong oras niya binigay iyung unang epi.

Luigi came. Nakasunod lang ito sa akin. Nagsuot ito ng surgical gloves at ganoon din ako.

" I'll position the patient. Do the intubation" He muttered. Binigyan niya ako ng espasyo para maintubate ko ng maayos iyung pasyente. I successfully inserted the intubation set. Afterwards, my nurse assisted me in connecting it to the ambo bag.

" Give second dose of epi now" I announced. The nurse gave it.

" Continue CPR" I commanded.

I'm losing the patient.

" Rhythm check" I said. Doc Luigi assisted me in everything. Nakasampung epi kami bago nagsalita ang asawa ng pasyente na tama na. We stopped reviving the patient as per family's request. The patient died of multiple organ failure. A 7 year dialysis patient.

Ang hirap pakawalan ang pasyente lalo na kung napalapit ka na dito.

I pronounced the patient's time of death and gave my condolences to the bereaved family. Kinausap ko sila ng maayos bago ako umalis na mabigat ang loob.

Nakasunod sa akin si Luigi nang naglakad ako papunta sa may wash area upang maghugas ng kamay.

Mabigat ang loob ko. Hindi ko alam pero bakit ngayon e sobra sobra kong dinaramdam ang pagkamatay ng pasyente ko. I should get used to this kind of situations. Pero hanggang ngayon mahirap kalabanin ang emosyon.
