'Baby girl, I hate to say it, but we could really use deputy dipshit'. There had been uproar at the revenant trailer park the past couple of days and Wynonna was determined to make an end

'No'. Waverly hissed. A few days had passed after Nicole had told Waverly all about her past and the younger Earp had grown even more protective over her girlfriend. She had gone through enough already, so fighting revenants was just not going to happen. 'I don't want her to get hurt'.

'And what about you?' Wynonna sat down on the corner of Waverly's desk, sipping her third coffee of the day. Wynonna was worried about her sister. She had expected her to be asleep in her room but she wasn't at the homestead. Waverly always let her know if she was going to stay at Nicole's but yesterday she hadn't heard anything from her younger sister.

'What about me?' Waverly rolled her eyes as she dove back into her research. She really wasn't going to deal with this, not now. She had work to do and needed to get her mind off things.

'You've gotten hurt once already. If it were to happen again, I just want Nicole to be there. She would totally knock hell out of me if she found out we went behind her back'.

'I'm not a porcelain doll Wynonna. I can handle myself alright'. Waverly stood up abruptly, almost knocking down her chair in the action.

'Jeez, who has your panties all twisted up?' Wynonna raised her eyebrows as she lowered herself from Waverly's desk, knocking down her coffee as she did. The contents of the cup staining all the papers that were scattered on the desk.

'For heaven's sake, Wynonna! I spent hours on that!' The brunette tried desperately to clean the mess that had been made, ruffling through the papers. 'Fuck!' As Waverly ran a hand through her hair, tears started to flow from her eyes.

'Hey, hey, hey!' Wynonna went over to her sister, grabbing her hands. The older Earp tried to soothe her sister by running her hands up and down Waverly's arms. 'What's the matter? You've been out of it all day. Is it Nicole? Do I need to punch someone?'

'I saw Champ'.

It was pouring outside as Waverly parked her car in front of the homestead. She had just gotten off work and was going to be alone for the rest of the night. Nicole had the night shift and Wynonna was off doing whatever, or whoever.

Waverly didn't mind being alone, she was actually glad to get some time for herself. She was tired from all the work she had been doing and everything that had been going on in hers and Nicole's life.

As she locked her car, she made a run for the homestead and got herself inside as quickly as possible. She was soaked nonetheless. She went upstairs to the bathroom to grab some towels and dry off. She changed into some pajamas and threw a blanket over her shoulders to try and get warm.

Waverly decided she would have a hot cocoa before getting to bed in the hopes of warming up some more. She had been shivering ever since she left Shorty's. She made her way down the stairs but stopped dead in her tracks as she saw an all too familiar figure leaning against the front door.

'What are you doing here Champ?' Waverly made sure not to let her fright sound through in her words.

'Just making sure my girl is doing alright now that your sister and that dyke have decided to leave you all alone during a storm like this'. Champ crosses his arms over his chest, a nasty smirk spreading on his face.

Every single thing that came out of Champ's mouth, had made her furious. Waverly tried to contain herself but she just couldn't, not when he was so degrading.
