New beginnings

Caitlin walked into the cafe and looked around for Barry. He had left her sleeping, as he had an early start, but had now just texted her he was in the cafe for a break if she wanted to come. Caitlin smiled as she saw Barry. She went to the counter to get herself some food

"Can I help you?"

"I'd like a slice of chocolate cake and a latte. Oh and could you please give the slice of chocolate cake to that guy sitting over there"

Caitlin followed as the server put the chocolate cake in front of Barry. Barry was so absorbed in his book he didn't register it at first 

"I didn't order this"

"I did" said Caitlin sitting down 

"To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Caitlin put her hands on her face 

"I'm shocked Barry. Can your girlfriend not do anything special for her boyfriend?"

"No, she can. But I know my girlfriend, and she's got a reason for doing this"

"Ok, you got me. You won the bet"

"What bet?"

"Barry!"

"Caitlin"

"Fine. You were right. It's new year and we're a thing. Happy now?"

"Definitely. See I told you my magic would work on you"

Caitlin kissed Barry on the lips

"Hi, by the way"

"Hi yourself"

"You know Barry, it's been really nice to have this time off and spend time with you. I wish I didn't have to go back yet"

"Then call in sick. I'll pull a sickie and we can just enjoy the day together"

"Yes and I can just imagine your dad's reaction to that. I'll just ring him and say sorry mr Allen, I can't come to work. I'm going to spend the day in bed doing naughty things to your son. Yep that'll go down well"

"Maybe use different words"

"No, I can't"

"Hurry up and finish work then"

Caitlin was making her way to her car. She had had a horrible day. She was glad it was over. There was Barry, infront of her car

"What are you doing here?"

"That's nice. I come to see my girlfriend after work, and this is the reception I get"

"Just get in the car"

"Ouch! Did my latte have a bad day?"

"Just get in before I drive off and leave you here"

When they reached home, Caitlin took Barry upstairs straight away

"I need to work off this energy"
