The worker rested a hand on his chin. "Like I said earlier, I'll wait til the weekend is up to decide."
"I'm looking for something to talk about here, and you're not giving me much to work with."
"Maybe this is a sign that you should be quiet for once, dont you think?" Once he caught a glimpse of the others unamused face he chuckled humorously. "Ok, so what do you want to talk about, hmm? I've already told you I'm not good at talking."
"You provide some amusing conversations, so don't sell yourself short."
"Right." Yokozawa trailed off.
"Let's attend the dinner early. I'm positive that more people have arrived and are probably already mingling amongst themselves."
"Ok. If that's what you want." The younger smoothed out his suit and began walking side by side with the other man. They exited the room and made their way to the main area where a type of ceremonial banquet was being held before the actual dinner.
A lot of people were already there and were talking to one another. At the back of the room were tables full of food and different types of beverages. It was a well put together party. It had a classy feel, yet remained casual for the most part.
"Do you want to go grab some food?" Kirishima asked, leaning down so he could whisper in the youngers ear. "Don't be shy. Let me know if you want to do something."
"I want food then."
The elder man laughed fondly. "Alright, let's go." He escorted the man to the tables in the back and watched as he stacked a plate full of food. Well..it wasn't necessarily food, it was mostly just pastries and other types of desserts but he chose not to say anything. "Do you want to find somewhere to sit?"
"No, I'm fine." Yokozawa replied, his mouth filled with some type of pudding. His eyes widened slightly and he looked at the curly haired man. "I'm sorry. Did you want some?" He held the spoon out as a type of offering.
It took everything in Kirishima not to laugh at him. This guy was just too much. He could be vulgar as hell, and innocent as ever in the blink of an eye. His personality and attitude were a definite contrast to his character.
With a small chuckle he shook his head. "I'm fine. Enjoy your food-
"Zen!" The owner of the mansion greeted enthusiastically, walking over to the pair while waving the entire time. "How are you enjoying the festivities? I hope it's to your liking? It's not often we get together and celebrate our successes, even if some of us are rivals."
The hazel eyed man nodded in agreement. "I'm enjoying the change of scenery. I'm also on board with your statement, it's been a while since we've done something like this."
"I knew you'd appreciate it." The man replied, his eyes falling on Yokozawa who was now eating some type of fruit pastry. "Hey, you don't mind if I steal Zen for a while, right?" He asked, directing the question at him.
Gray eyes glanced up. "Oh- uhm. Sure I don't mind." He stuttered, obviously not paying attention or even comprehending what had happened.
"Thanks. Come on, Zen. The guys want to talk to you."
Kirishima sent the younger male an apologetic look. "I'll be back in a bit. Enjoy yourself, but try not to eat too much, and remember to drink water."
"Alright. Get lost old man." Yokozawa turned away, not at all bothered that he was being left alone. Usually, he couldn't stand the idea of being in a crowded room, but there were so many people packed into this space, he was certain no one would notice him. Especially because he was the only one in the back casually snacking on everything.
He had just taken a bite out of a slice of cake when someone approached him. So much for trying to eat in peace. "What company are you here for?"
He blinked up. "I'm not here to represent any company if that's what you're asking."
"Are you somebody's plus one?"
"Yeah. I came here with some dude who owns a company or something like that."
"You don't know who you work for?"
"No. All I know is he's rich."
The unknown person tilted his head slightly in confusion. How could this guy not know who he worked for, and more specifically, how did he not know what his employer did? "Who's your employer?"
"Damn you're annoying. Can't you see I'm trying to eat? What the hell do you want from me? Did you want me to move or something?"
"I-I just wanted to make conversation with you. No need to be so rude."
"Pfft. Didn't you ever take into consideration that maybe not everyone wants to talk at these events?"
"W-well yeah, but you were standing back here all alone, so I figured-
"Figured you'd bother me because you're bored? Sorry to break it to you but I don't talk to people for free, so get lost."
Instead of becoming offended the man just raised an eyebrow. "What kind of worker are you, and who are you here with?"
"I'm here with some guy named Kirishima."
"Kirishima Zen?"
"Yeah."
"And what do you do for him?"
Well that's a loaded question. Yokozawa thought, chuckling lightly. "I do whatever he wants me to do."
"So you're his assistant."
"I guess you could say that."
"I see. What's your name-
"Hey, I'm back." Kirishima said, walking up to the younger man. "And I see you've made a friend."
"Fuck no. I don't want friends."
"You'll have to forgive him. He's a bit too honest. Must be because of all the sugar and alcohol he's had." The elder apologized for him, taking his plate of food away and swapping it out for a bottle of water. "I'm sorry if he caused you any problems."
"No, no. He was entertaining to say the least. Bring him again if you get the chance."
Kirishima locked eyes with the gray eyed man and hummed appraisingly. "If given the chance, and assuming he agrees, I'd love to bring him again."
He said it on a whim, knowing all too well that Yokozawa was a hard man to catch. If things had been up to him, he would've purchased him for the entire week, but when he'd called the place, they had told him that the man was booked.
Clearly this man was loved by everyone. Despite his crude attitude, people seemed to be drawn to him.
They were worlds away. Here he was thinking that he could compete or even be on equal footing with this man. How terribly wrong he was.
They were nothing alike.
