The doctor was looking forward to the next outing with Clara. So when Wednesday came back around he couldn't stop smiling and picked her up at early as possible.

6 o'clock am. Clara was in bed but she however was not asleep.

There was a loud knock on the door of her flat followed shortly by a 'Clara!' Then she knew who it was. Usually this was when she raced to open the door but when she opened it, she would act all cool like she wasn't excited.

But today was different.

'Clara!' Another yell came beaming through her head. She heard him trying to turn the door knob. Then there was a whirring sound of the sonic and a clicking noise of the door opening.

'Clara?' He said quietly looking around the kitchen-lounge part of her flat.

She stayed as silent as possible making no noise and holding her breath for long periods of time. He knew she was in, her keys were on the side, her shoes still laid out, but no sign of Clara.

He spotted the bedroom door where about forty thoughts rushed through his mind about privacy and bedrooms. Clara heard his footsteps draw closer to the room and she held her breath.

'Clara?' He spoke softly holding the doorknob and turning it slowly.

He pushed so only a gap opened up.

'Clara!' The doctor shouted seeing her laying in bed.

'Go away' Clara said calmly. 'Please' she added. 'Please just go away' she repeated it.

'But it's Wednesday! It's your day of from school, and kids and work' The doctor said pushing the door open wider but not stepping any further.

'Don't come in. Please don't come near me' she said from under the covers. 'I wasn't going to. What's wrong?' He said crossing his arms and leaning against the door frame watching Clara stutter under the covers.

There was silence.

So he stepped into the room and sat on the edge of the bed. 'Clara?' He said softly and quietly. 'Please' she responded. 'Don't come near me, don't touch me.' She said following he previous plead.

'Clara your worrying me, what's wrong?' He said tilting his head sideways.

'Nothing. Nothing.' She murmured. 'Okay, well can I see your face then?' He asked rather cautiously. With that he placed a hand out to the covers that hung over her body and pulled them down slightly to reveal Clara's head. She was faced away from him so he got a view of the back of her head, her hair quite untidy. He stood up actually afraid to see Clara.

'It's not Wednesday' Clara muttered. 'I saw you yesterday. It's Thursday' she croaked.

He continued to walk around the side of her bed catching his first glimpse of her face. It was dark, tired and emotionless. She blinked very little and her eyes were blinded from the sun but she still just stared forward not watching for the doctor. When he got closer he noticed sticky tear stains dripping from her eyes. What a state she was in. What happened?
