Noah P.O.V

I sat on my daddy's lap as he wraps his arm around me. Both of us waiting outside the room for mom to come home. I was worried and I felt myself crying.

Noah: D-Daddy?

Daddt: yes son?

Noah: (teary face) w-will mommy be al-alright?

Daddy said nothing but pat my head. I felt the tears go down my cheek but daddy wiped it off my face. Making sure no tears were on me as he stared at me with brown eyes.

Daddy: son, mommy might have to sleep

Noah: she can do that

Daddy: this time, she may sleep for a while

Noah: I-I can wait

I replied until I felt tears on my forehead. Seeing daddy cry as he leaned over and held me close. Whispering 'sorrys' and 'forgive me' as I lean into daddy's shoulder. As he hugged me close, the doors swung open as they called for my dad.

Daddy: stay here, okay noah

Noah: okay dad

Daddy left inside the room as I waited outside. I clutch my pants as I felt my eyes water until someone sat next to me. I didn't look, being afraid if they scare me as I kept my head down. Silence filled the room as the only sounds was the winds that echoed the halls.

"hey kid"

I hesitated but looked up to see a man wearing a hat, he also had lines on his chin. He even has a big coat and black shoes.

"what are you doing here?"

Noah: um (looks away)

"not much of a talker, huh?"

Noah: n-no....

"that's fine.... you kinda remind me of someone I know"

Noah: d-did you have a baby?

The question was unanswered as the man only hollered and laugh. Slapping his knee as he ruffled my hair, I smile a bit.

"haha you're funny kid. Seriously, no I don't but I took care of a nephew of mine"

Noah: nep u?

"no it's nef and then u"

Noah: oh, nephew

"there you go.... jeez why am I telling you this?"

Noah: hehehe you're funny mister

The man said nothing but smirked a little and ruffled my hair once more. We continued to chat as I felt happier. I never talked with anyone like this before, usually the kids are mean to me and beat me up. Dad always tell me to stay home so I do and protect mommy from the meanies.
