*Beep beep, beep beep*
Felix groaned and rolled over to see his alarm clock was going off. "It's time already??" He said softly as he gave a loud sigh and rolled out of bed. He got up and threw on some clothes he had lying in a basket. An animal crossing t-shirt, some faded skinny jeans, a Frank Ocean sweatshirt and a flat brimmed Seattle Mariners baseball cap. He walked out of his bedroom, upstairs and bumped into his mom.
"Oh shoot, my bad hun" his mom said with her cheeks turning immediately red. "It's okay mom, happens to the best of us." Felix says with a laugh. "Do want any eggs?? I know they're your favorite and you have a big day today" she says with a big smile on her face. "Oh if only you knew" Felix said under his breath, somber and quiet enough for his mom not to hear. "No thanks mom, I'm just gonna grab something quick for the road." he says and proceeds to grab a pack of poptarts and heads out the door.
It was a pretty average day in the spring. The clouds were scattered, but didn't allow for a lot of sunlight. A slight breeze was in the air as Felix hopped into his car and started to drive. Normally at this time he'd been on his way to school, meeting up with his best friends Mira Jane and Koda. But instead of going to school to choose what his senior project would be, he decides take a drive out to Shi Shi beach, to get away from everyone for what awaits for him on this big day.
As he's driving he plugs his aux into his car and starts to play some music, playlists he and his friends made over the years. One in particular caught his eye today..."The Day it Ends". It was a collaborative playlist they all made during various points of depression or low esteem seasons in their lives. Felix turned it on and just started to fade. He felt himself get disconnected mentally from where he was then to where he was when they added these songs. Eventually he snapped back to reality when a car honked at him for going too slow. And soon after made his way to his destination.
After he arrived at Shi Shi beach, he started to make his way to the highest point there. The walk there was filled with beautiful pieces of nature. Trees everywhere, taller than sky scrapers, thin as paper, and all sorts of shapes and sizes. Birds flying through he air, Felix barely catching them over his music, and small rodents passing by in the brush as he unintentionally scared them off. Felix smirks and makes his way higher and higher until he sees the open sky and hears the waves brush up against the cliffside.
He takes a deep breath, but is then alerted to his phone as he sees Mira Jane texted him to see where he's at.
M- Hey, where are you, school's about to start??
F- I'm not coming in today, got some stuff to take care of
M- You doing good??
F- It will be, I'll talk to you later.
Felix exits out of the chat and heads back to the playlist. Mira responds but he ignores it immediately. He walks out to the cliffside, and looks down, staring at the waves, the crash pounding in his chest every time they hit the cliffside. He decides to take a seat on the cliff, and looks out into the ocean, longing for what was, before he finally completes his day.
