December 2, 2020 - NXT

Start from the beginning

I had to be careful not to be seen or the effect would be ruined. Wade Barret found me and winked as I rolled my eyes. I jumped up into the ring and the fans went crazy as they started to realize I was there. I ran and jumped over the ropes. The women below caught me as they all scattered to the floor. It made me feel marginally better that Rhea caught the brunt of my weight.

A few moments later, we were celebrating when Shotzi grabbed the briefcase hanging from the rafters. Ember and I clung to each side of the ladder while Shotzi held the briefcase proudly on top. Rhea posed in front of the ladder. It was an emphatic, this means war to our opponents.

The rush of the final moments of NXT wore off too quickly. War Games was going to be an insane and intense match, but it was going to be epic. Once I was home, I changed quickly into yoga pants and a tshirt. I was still protesting having people in our house so I wasn't going to look cute doing it.

"Will you quit sulking?" Rhea nearly laughed as she set out a tray of glasses with a couple of bottles of liquor.

"No," I folded my arms. "I won't."

"Come on, Savvy. We had a really good night. That ending was ridiculously cool. Let's enjoy it."

"I'm not even allowed to drink yet. I'm still on the anti-inflammatory meds for the bruised ribs that you gave me."

She cringed, "sorry."

I narrowed my eyes at her. "No, you're not. You thought the bruises were cool."

She shrugged and stopped trying to hide her smile, "Well yeah, but I didn't want you to be hurt."

"You're a maniac," I said matter of factly then went to sit on the couch. A moment later the doorbell rang. "Come in," I yelled.

Kyle and Adam came into the living room, carrying a case of beer each. Adam nodded at me before taking Kyle's case of beer and going to the kitchen where Rhea was. Kyle sat down next to me. He sighed and ran his hands down his jeans. "What's up with you?"

I glared at him. "I don't want to be here."

He half-smiled, "but this is your house."

"Well, it's nicer for me to say that I don't want to be here than to say that I don't want you here."

He clutched his chest. "Ow, right in the heart Sav."

I rolled my eyes, "Kyle, get a grip. Where are the other two?"

His smile fell, "Outside. They'll be in soon. Roddy is giving Fish a pep talk."

I snorted a laugh, "Why?"

"Cause he's worried about seeing you."

"And whose fault is that?"

"His," Kyle said matter of factly. "We know. He knows. It's his fault."

The way Kyle said that sent shivers down my spine. I wasn't sure why though. Before I had time to ask about it my front door flew open. "Rhea!" Damian's loud voice filled the entire space.

"She's in the kitchen. Stop being so damn loud." I yelled back.

There was a loud squeak too then a demanding feminine voice, "And put me down!"

I stood up and looked down the hall, Damian walking toward the kitchen with Shotzi thrown over his shoulder. I stifled a laugh, "and put Shotzi down! House rules."

"Thank you!" Shotzi yelled. I wasn't sure if she meant it to me for telling Damian to or to Damian for actually putting her down.

I sat back down next to Kyle and kicked my feet up on the coffee table. After another long moment, the door opened again. Every muscle in me tensed as Roderick and Bobby walked into my house. I sank down lower as if I could hide. But they never came into the living room. I heard their voices mix with Adam's as they went to the kitchen.
