Lady Whistletowns POV

Dearest reader,
the time has come to place our bets for the upcoming social season. Consider the household of the Baron Featherington. Three misses foisted upon the marriage market like sorrowful sows by their tactless mama. Far better odds might exist in the household of the widowed Viscountess Bridgerton. A shockingly prolific family, noted for its bounty of perfectly handsome sons and perfectly beautiful daughters and the newest addition to the family, orphan Lady Adelaide Waters. The most stunning girl in the town, but she is not to be a part of the social season until she hits the ripe age of 19. This cannot be said for Adelaides best friend and Bridgertons eldest daughter Lady Daphne. Today is a most important day, and for some a terrifying one, for today is the day London's marriage-minded misses are presented to Her Majesty the Queen. May God have mercy on their souls.

Adelaides POV

"Daphne! Adelaide! You must make haste!" the piercing scream of Eloise Bridgerton came through the doors of Daphnes room. I quickly look over to Daphne feeling my eyes widen

"You done? I truly am scared of her" I say in a hushed tone as if Eloise could hear me from the bottom of the stairs. Daphne looks up looking sweetly at me before she gives me a soft smile

"Ready" she says and it is then that my eyes drop down to her dress. she wears a beautiful long white fitting gown and her hair is up in a bun. She simply looked stunning but then again Daphne and her family were blessed with the looks of greek gods due to their parents

"You look great Daph, you will most definitely be the talk of the season" I say giving my best friend a smile. She looks down to my dress before looking back up at me

"It will always amaze me how you can look so effortless even though you take ten seconds to fit yourself into those gowns" she says shaking her head slightly but suddenly the sound of footsteps seem to come up the stairs and Daphne quickly giggles before grabbing my arm and dragging me out her bedroom door. As we walked down the stairs, every siblings eyes seemed to turn to Daphne and I frowned slightly as I realised Anthony was not there. Before I could have a second thought I was rushed down the stairs and thrown into a carriage with Daphne and Collin.

"Good day Bridgerton" I spoke to Collin and he turned to smirk at me

"Lady Waters" he says with sarcasm in his tone. I let out a snort before turning back to Lady Bridgertons conversation as she stood with a frown on her face looking up at Benidict

"Should your brother wish to be obeyed as Lord Bridgerton, he must act as Lord Bridgerton. Where is he, Benedict?" she growls and I watch as Benedict continues pulling on his gloves clearly trying to ignore his mother before he finally releases a sigh

"I don't know" he says rolling his eyes and with a huff Lady Bridgerton gets herself into the carriage. When we came to a stop I looked around noticing the Bridgertons all looked quite nervous in carriage while twiddling their thumbs around I sighed before I jumped out first and breathed in the fresh streets of London

"Adelaide" I heard a familiar voice cry and I turned to see the oldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, jogging towards me. I crossed my arms in mock anger and changed my voice to a scowling tone.

"Anthony Bridgerton" I stated, mocking Lady Bridgertons voice and I watched as a smile covered Anthonys face before wrapping his arms around my body lifting me up off the ground.

"Adelaide Giselle Waters" he scowls while laughing before smacking a wet kiss against my cheek. I struggled out of his gasp before wiping his kiss of my cheek

"I thought we agreed to never mention my middle name" I frowned but he continues to laugh before wrapping me in a hug again

"Get off of her we don't need the wrong idea getting out" Lady Bridgerton says stepping out from the carriage with Daphne following
