"We lost." Felix gave a small pout as he and Hyunjin walked up to the group waiting for them.

The first elimination round of Sunday had just ended, and tensions were unbearably high in the hallway. Unlike the preliminaries, the judges announced who won and lost outright as soon as you finished, and it was sometimes evidently clear based on who had the happy expression and who was close to tears as they walked out of the room.

"Aw." Changbin gave him a small hug, patting his back. "You guys did well for your first time together."

Jisung smacked the Vice Captain. "What in the shit is this? You laugh in my face and call me a fluke whenever I lose."

"This is his first time, dipshit."

"You flicked my head and told me to grow a brain my first time!"

"That was completely deserved. You forgot your laptop charger at home and your screen died out on you halfway through. That's uncontested stupidity."

"We were paired up against some pretty tough people, so our situation wasn't any better," Hyunjin mourned. He faked a sob and flopped onto Seungmin. "Jinjin was so sad."

Seungmin instantly shoved him off. "Call yourself Jinjin again and you can use the damn wall as your pillow next time."

If you listened closely enough, you could hear the sound of Hyunjin's heart breaking.

Or maybe that was his kneecaps. Nobody knew.

Contrary to his partner, however, Felix didn't look too discouraged. In fact, he more or less seemed completely unaffected, by the way he was bouncing under Changbin's arm. "Did everyone else make it?"

Chan shook his head. "Wonyoung and Yuna are out. The rest of us are still in, though."

"Ooh. Three out of five teams isn't bad. One of us could totally win this thing."

Jeongin looked up from his phone. "Octafinals has sixteen teams. It's going to be hard for any of us, even if you're Jisung or Chan and Changbin."

"But one of us definitely can make it that far, right? I mean, the Academy has this reputation for a reason."

"Mm. Probably Jisung, then."

"Cool." Felix grinned and turned to Jisung. "Congratulations on your championship ahead of time, man."

"Don't say that!" Jisung panicked, scared that the freckled boy had jinxed his chances. "You sound exactly like your brother right now and it's frightening. I can't handle two Minhos."

"Yeah," Hyunjin stopped trying to rewrap his arms around Seungmin for a moment. "Jisung probably has enough fantasies about the first one."

"What the fuck!"
