So this is my harry potter life story, hope you like it :)
***
I stepped onto platform 9 ¾ and breathed in the air. I loved the first day of school, in my opinion it was the best day of the year second only to Christmas. My mother followed behind her pushing her trolley while I carried her owl, Glow named after Athena's owl in Greek mythology Glaukopis. I ran back towards her mother and placed Glow on top of her trunk. I had already changed into my robes having woken up extremely early because she could no longer sleep from excitement. I looked around and noticed people had started to stare and whisper not so subtly about them.
"Is that Luna Lovegood?"
"She's the founder of the Quibbler."
"No, I heard it was actually her father.'
"But she made it famous."
"Oh look there's her daughter" someone even had the gall to point.
"Where's the father?"
"I heard he's dead."
I checked my watch. She would have to leave soon. She had a special meeting or something. I gave her a quick hug and picked up my trunk and Glow.
"Bye" I waved.
"See you on Christmas." Mum said. "And write to me once a week."
"Ok" I was already walking towards the Hogwarts express. I boarded the train and found an empty compartment. I leaned out the window and waved at my mum as they started to build up speed and before I knew it we were speading through the countryside.
I sat back down in my seat. The door to the compartment opened and Tasherit walked in with a frown on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked her.
"People, Athena why are they like this?" she didn't have to elaborate I knew what she meant. People were always looking at me or my mother though for a very different reason then they looked at Tasherit. Being the granddaughter of Voldemort and Bellatrix did not make you very popular. And it didn't help that her mum got pregnant very young either.
Saskia walked into the compartment as well holding her cat, Midnight. Tasherit immediately picked up her cat Shadow. Shadow and Midnight had an ongoing rivalry that often ended up with both parties injured.
"It took me forever to find you." Saskia grumbled. "Why did you pick a compartment so far back?"
We both gave her a pointed look and she sighed and sat down.
Me, Tasherit and Saskia first met in our first year. We shared the boat that took us over the lake and had been best friends since we'd all been sorted into Ravenclaw.
When the food cart came, we each bought some snacks and Tasherit and Saskia went to change into their robes. I picked up a chocolate frog, unwrapped it and shoved the whole thing in my mouth. While I was chewing I picked up the card and choked on the chocolate frog. I spluttered and coughed. Tasherit came back in and quickly ran up to me.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah," I managed. "Just choked on a chocolate frog."
"Wow you're quite talented. I've never seen anyone choke on a chocolate frog before."
I showed her the card.
"Oh" She simply said. Saskia walked in behind her and shut the door.
"What are you two staring at?" She asked. Tasherit handed her the card and she read it aloud.
"'Luna Lovegood, Currently editor-in-chief of The Quibbler. Lovegood is most famous for Helping Harry Potter destroy one of Voldemort's horcruxes, being part of the battle of Hogwarts, and bringing glory to The Quibbler. Lovegood is a mother To Athena Lovegood and enjoys watching quidditch with her friends and family.'' Saskia looked up at me. "Wow Athena I didn't realize you mum had a chocolate frog card."
"Neither did I." I muttered.
Saskia picked up another chocolate frog.
"Look, this one is Hermione Granger. Must be a new generation of cards."
"Professor McGonagall has on too!" Tasherit said, holding up another card.
I couldn't care less about those. I was more concerned with the one that had my mothers smiling face on it.
"Why didn't she tell me?" I mumbled more to herself than them.
"Maybe she didn't think you would mind." Tasherit said thoughtfully as she came to it next to me.
"Wouldn't mind?! Wouldn't mind that my mother is now on a chocolate frog card? Wouldn't mind that I was on the chocolate frog card?"
Tasherit shrugged.
"Guys look." Saskia said excitedly pointing at the window. "We are almost there!"
We looked out the window and caught the first glimpse of Hogwarts. Immediately I was filled with joy. We got off the train and joined the throng of kids heading to the carriages. We boarded a carriage and in no time were making our way up the drive. We came to a stop and I peeked out the window and smiled. Hogwarts, I was finally back.
